Afc Neo Test Without Being Wired Into Ecu.

Does anyone know if you can just apply straight power to the afc via battery or whatever to power and ground (i think theres 2 power wires)

just to test if it turns on. or does it need proper sensor input aswell.

See it was in my rx7 when it caught fire 2 years ago and was blasted by water so id like to see if it turns on so i don't end up wiring it in my r33 for nothing.

I also havent read of anyone who has had a water damaged afc nor found any sort of warranty info on them.

So yea, has anyone ever done this before and is it possible.

and yes i know, im gonna have to just try it but i figured i'd ask.

should be able to just connect the power wires to see if it turns on

i tried.....

so far i have tried to connect the 2 power wires+ illumination to positive on battery,

and the 2 ground together to a ground.

nothing happened.

anyone think im doing something wrong or...?

is there an easier way that someone can think off?

there is no more simple way than just connecting it to a battery. just double check that you were connecting the right wires. should be red and red/white to positive and brown and black to negative. don't bother touching the illumination wire as i think that simply dims the screen. if you have done that and nothing happened then i'd say the unit is dead. i'm not sure if they have a fuse in them that can blow. might be worth looking into that
