Wastegates are internal on the turbos hence there are 2. You can upgrade the actuators. These control the wastegates.

They are removable and can be replaced with adjustable ones. Garrett and HKS ones both fit. There are probably other ones you can get, that will fit.

+1

standard and n1 turbos are internal or integral wastegate, which means the wastegate is integrated into the exhaust housing of the turbo, so when you upgrade the turbos the wastegate on them will already be the right size to suit the turbo.

external wastegate turbos have no gate in the turbo itself and use a seperate or external (hence the name) wastegate mounted somewhere on the manifold

when you say wastegate please clarify what you mean

do you mean the spring actuator rod (most people refer to this) - this controls the minimum amount of boost you run before the wastegate opens

or

do you mean the wastegate size itself - this bypasses pressure off the housing and maintains effective boost control

Well yes i realise that Jono :P - but WHY does he want to upgrade them as i said.

Being able to or not doesn't tell anyone much at all.

Perhaps there is something the OP has been told by a mates mate that he needs to do to fix some issue/enhance performance or anything else weird and wonderful that can occur after a few beers down @ the pub :)
