Hi everyone, I am new here and I will be viewing a 2003 Nissan Skyline 350 GT Coupe here in New Zealand this weekend. I had always loved the shape of the coupe version of the 350 GT. However, I am really not too sure on how good is the car. Being Nissan, I would assume it to be fairly reliable however, I am keen to know more:-

1) Has there been any really common mechanical problem with the car? I do see in other forums that the electric windows are one of the problem area but most ppl are saying it's not a too hard problem to fix. Is there any other problems that I need to be worried about or take note?

2) I understand there is a CVT version of the gearbox. Is this available for the 2003 version of the car? Frankly, I prefer no CVT as I heard the CVT transmission is more prone to fault.

3) What is the cost of maintaining the car? Are 2nd hand parts / aftermarket parts easy and cheap to obtain? Will there be more cost in maintaining the 3.5l V6 engine compared to other 4 cylinders engine?

4) How is fuel consumption like? Normally how far can a full tank of fuel last?

I am really excited at the prospect of getting the car as I had always admired those I saw on the road. However, still need to make sure that it is not over my budget to maintain it going forward.

Everyone's help and view on this will be most appreciated! Do give me more details on other things that I should be aware of if I had not mentioned about it above.

Thanks everyone!

Cheers!

Also, I am looking at the sedan version and there are a few 2.5l versions available. How powerful are these compared to the 3.5l version? Are the basically the same engine but less powerful? How will u rate the 2.5l version of the skyline?
