Qld Licences To Go All James Bond

96 bucks is still cheaper than what I pay for my license in WA, and obviously its not the card that is the 50 dollar cost rise its just license costs going up. How long has it been since any previous license fee rise in QLD?

So I heard on the radio there will be a 2 week wait when you renew your licence to get your fancy James Bond licence, and you will get a paper licence to cover the 2 weeks.

SURELY this defeats the purpose? This paper licence will no doubt be stupidly easy to forge, but will have to be accepted as a form of 18+ ID for all the suckers who are waiting for their real licence. Nice one QLD

Bah stop ya whinging! For 10 years licence down here is $350 clams i believe, rego for a 4 cylinder is $170 for 3 months.....We're the highest taxed most over policed state in australia...With no drag strip and one race track

read what it says carefully. this line in particular..

A five-year licence will jump in cost from the current $73.30 to $96.05 next year, and rise to $152.50 by 2014-15, putting Queensland in line with the highest-charging states.

basically it means that we will be on par the states who already charge that much. meaning that we currently get it cheaper than some states.

and at the end of the day, $152.50 for 5 years isn't much. that's only $30.50 a year.
