Hi,

Have just decided to buy a Pod Filter for my R33 and was hoping to get a box for it to help hide it.

For now im still running stock intercooler.

Has anyone used one of these?

If so any feedback or pics??

Or does anyone have any experience with other boxes that are availalbe to purchase? I can't find many of these easily!

Thanks in advance.

good point... guess 'hide' was the wrong word :-)

never the less you kno what i mean.

Also reading the description of the item it says it makes the pod legal in most states (i doubt that to be honest)...

Still its an investment im happy to make if i can get some feedback

The only way its legal is if you have a stock intercooler and stock plenum or else no matter what you do , you will get done for it and this is like the first thing in a cops head these days when checking skyline pod and cooler

Indeed i know what you mean.

Depending on your state etc it's still illegal.

And as stated, factory airbox + good panel filter is just as good AND legal to boot (if that is what you are concerned about when you mean hide :))

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yep I agree... just thought id try a pod for a while adn see what it was like.

I currently have a high flow panel filter on stock setup. I'm likely to return to it if pod gives me trouble.

All this aside, original question still stands... If anyone has bought one of these boxes Id like to hear about what they thought and what it was like.

cheers

I made my own pod box from some alluminium sheeting. Pretty easy if you have access to a metal bender.

I'll post up some pics tonight if your interested, or do a search for my project 33 in NSW and you should find it. Although mine has a window in it so not very stealth.

Yeah mate love some pics. I found a guide on installing an Apexi and making a box on SAU so im guessing thats it? I'm not too sure how well I'd go making my own!

Just received and installed my pod seems to feel more responsive but wow its loud!

I use one which I purchased from another vendor much cheaper and of better quality. PM me if you want their details, and I have been pulled over once and the cop didn't say anything about it.

Really depends on how they're feeling, my friend nearly got defected in his EVO8 for a FMIC, the cop kept on insisting it was aftermarket although all EVOs come stock witha FMIC lol.... was hard to hold in our laughter!

^^ As long as it is a high flow one.

APex'i / HKS / K&N they all do the job.

You can clean the filter with the K&N Cleaner Kit.

Unless you want to spend an extra $100+ each service buying a new filter...

Apply the cleaning solution to the filter and let it soak for 10mins.

Hose of with tap water and let it sit and dry in the sun.

You might even want to flick the filter to get rid of some excess water to speed up drying time.

K&N Cleaner Kit also give you an oil spray, no need to use it, but if you do, just a light spray only to catch excess particles.

DR/FT brand?! = Get the fuck out! :P
