hi all,

i have some pics i want to post but they are all too large (especially after i read those tips on post editing!)

does anyone have any idea how i can get my photos up?

What exactly is the problem? The actual pixel size of the photos are too large? If so you need to shrink them to around 800 pixels wide, 500-600 pixels tall.

You can download and install Picasa (free google app) and then resize them to 800pixels on the fly when you upload them to your own free online web album...

(and then just link to the pics in there from here)

What Zenon said to do is what I do when I can't be bothered to resize.

I created a picasa account and simply upload the pictures there.

Once the pics are there, they're resized automatically.

From there, I Right click the picture, and copy (CTRL-C) the file location

Once you've done that simply past the file between "[im g]....[/im g] <No space of course.>

yeah sorry i wasnt too clear. i couldnt upload any photos cause they were over 2mb. is picassa like FastStone Photo Resizer? someone further into the forum mentioned that program and it seems to work.

Fast Stone is just a resizer. Picasa is a program that can do all sorts of things.

One of which is to resize as you upload

So you can upload them at 800pixels

OR you can upload using Picasa in full size and then just link to the 800pixel versions

Yeah exactly.

And to use the pciture you dont have to upload it again

As it is already hosted on the google servers.

So all you have to do is link to it.

When you view your picture in the Picasa web album you will see on the right there will be a "Link to Photo" which gives the the URL to the image.

And you just use that URL then

Thanks for this fellas. I've started to try to post picture links instead of attach. I've been using the member photos on this site and clicking the copy link address. But since Google's kind enough to host our pictures well all the better.
