I'd be worried about the grip. Dry weather might be ok but cheap tyres are normally dangerous in the wet...

Totally agree, I used to run with a brand called 'Double Star" ( some china brand) the size is 225/17/45, my car had serious under steer in dry condition, and like a floating boat in the wet, it can be easy to slide out just using 1/3 throttle.

It is always YOU PAY WHAT YOU GET, no matter how many horse power you've got, at last it is those four wheels to run the power, don't save for a hundred and lost a few thousand.

These are leaps and bounds ahead of 'Double Star' .. These are the same compound as Federal 595ss, a very reputable, affordable performance tyre.

FWIW I have a set of these on our Stagea in 235/45R18, and I am very impressed, grip is good wet and dry, they are a little noisy, but it's transformed the handling from the shitty Triangle compliance tyres. Treadwear rating on mine is 240 (Triangles were 400! And like driving on glass).

If you haven't got a lot of cash these are a great bargain in safety and performance terms.
