i just swapped an rb20det into my s13 chassis and got it running today, it runs super rich as is. i have an apexi safc neo hooked up and yes i know that is not enough for tuning. my set up is a z32 maf/afm, walbro 255lph fuel pump, hks 2535 turbo, and sard 550cc injectors. stand alone would be nice but i would prefer to do something more affordable. what options and advice can i have for tuning?

is there any reputable places that do remaps i can send my ecu to, if not i'll just have to save for a stand alone. i will look more into nistune, has anyone ever heard of vipec, a guy locally recomended that to me, im sure you all have heard of his car its the rb26 gtr powered bmw e30.

I see you are in the states.

Nistune are local to Australia. Taking the factory ECU and adding a programmable ROM. A great option for your current level of mods.

Vipec (Link) is a New Zealand product (correct?). They are supposed to be great quality products, but any ECU option is only as good as your tuner. If your workshop of choice is confident in tuning them then go for it. The cost could be twice that of the Nistune, but they are about as easy to tune as the other. (From what I am told).

There are a few threads around here on both the Vipec and Nistune. And plenty of experienced tuners who post in this section.

Best of luck in your choice.

I have a Power FC in my (RB20 Powered) car, but if I had the choice to spend the money now and the Vipec was available when I first went to a full A/M ecu, then I would probably have a Vipec in my car.

the local tuner around here used it for the first time and got that e30 gtr to run good within a half hour, apparently the tuner could not get a good tune, or the car to even run right with aem ems. i went to a drift event today and talked to other rb owners and i was talking about full standalone ems and i guess this guy can remap ecu's and get them to run really close to perfect, he also specializes with rb20 tunes. im gonna try and find him on a few forums, i guess he is carl h. if you've ever heard of him
