I saw a cop hiding behind a power pole today about 50mtrs after the start of the bus lane in his fluro vest. Couldn't see his car until I went aroun the corner. For some strange reason not as many people where using the lane compared to other days. It should be a three lane road and only a bus zone after 8.30am.

Sucks they got you the first time!

Yeah i know it's a pain in the but also to top it off i don't normally go to work that way, i normally head down wells/boundary road but lately it's full of soccer mums and their massive 4wd's. I think i can safely say i'm not going that way to work again.

Can't get much more specific than that^^

Unless google maps is outdated I'm not seeing the bus lane turning onto Governor Road...and unless they extended the length of that slip lane, the slip lane itself isn't even 100 metres.

haha outdated ?

my neighbors still have their tree that they cut down nearly 3yrs ago . . . .

where abouts did you actually get into the lane? By the pic on google maps the start of the solid whit line to the stop mark at the lights is only 78.9673m. I have attached an image of where the 100m distance is at. If you were within that line, i'd be fighting this one, if not then I guess it's tough luck

The map u posted is wrong side of the intersection...thats heading south..i believe he was heading north..right?? ..its quite a bit longer

I nearly got done on the stud rd bus lanes...they did a blitz there a while back ,..there was a bunch of us in the bus lane when everybody stopped, with no idea police were there, i changed lanes to my right to pass the stopped cars when a crazy copper jumps out in front of me from in front of the stopped cars.., i swerved to miss him as i had no time to brake and kept driving..Figured id get a fine in the mail or something but never did...

http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/rsc/demerit/demerit5.htm

have a read i'm unsure how old it is but they way the cops and racv have proposed the way points and fines should be handed out. It's quite interesting

Table 9 Current Speeding Penalties In Victoria

Speed in Excess of Fine Demerit Points Plus Automatic
That Permitted Licence
														  Suspension
1 km/h - 15 km/h $105 1 -
16 km/h - 29 km/h $165 3 -
30 km/h - 39 km/h $220 4 1 month
40 km/h - 44 km/h $300 4 4 months
45 km/h - 49 km/h $300 6 4 months
50 km/h or more $360 6 6 months

The Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) proposed the following new sliding scale of demerit points: [16]

Table 10 RACV Proposal For Demerit Points For Speeding Offences

Exceeding Speed Limit Demerit Points
By less than 10 km/h nil
10-19 km/h 1
20-29 km/h 2
30-39 km/h 3
40-44 km/h 4
45 km/h or more 6

Table 11 Victoria Police Proposal for Demerit Points for Speeding

Offences

Exceeding Speed Limit Demerit Points
By less than 16 km/h nil
16-29 km/h 2
30-44 km/h 4
45 km/h or more 6

Subsequently the Police decided to support the status quo. [23]
