buy here

you will pay more for the same thing if you import

plus it stimulates the australian economy cos it keeps the $$$ in aus rather than sending some of it to japland

i picked up my manual stag for 13k and it was originally listed at 19k

I agree with buying here. There are about 100 Stageas for sale around the country. You should be able to find a good one that satisfies.

In a word the market is stuffed!

Good time to buy one.

it depends on the cash saving. if you can save a couple of grand by importing, import. otherwise, buying locally is the way to go.

tbh, i find that the perfect reason to import. if car companies stopped giving us shit cars in teh ADM range to pick from, i wouldn't be importing. in my case/opinion, they've only got themselves to blame.

plenty of threads on this, try searching

yeah i did a search and had really random mixed reviews

i've had a look and theres none in VIC... and the price of 260RS over here is about 8k more than the landed and complied price for some importers..

Reckon its worth getting mates interstate to look at Stags for me?

yep

funnily enough, I have a mate who's just moved to Sydney.

I might get him to have a look around for me, but dont want to be a pain in the arse...

Some nice Stags on that site and reasonably priced!

Just wondering what your thoughts are on:

Importing a Stag (or any car really) vs Buying one in Aus?

What are the pros and cons?

I have done both and whilst my first Stag never gave me any problems, it was bought locally, it later became obvious that it had been clocked quite substanially. I bought my NM35 from a Japanese auction house through an agent and at least knew that the mileage was genuine. When I was looking for several weeks many Stags came up which were too expensive for me and now knowing what the cost of importing is I wonder what dealers are paying for Stags or where they are buying them from to be able to offer them so cheaply. During my search I was warned away from certain areas in Japan to look for cars due to several different reasons so I suppose in the end you pays your money you take your chances either locally or offshore, anyway good luck I hope you find what your looking for

I can vouch for Alex and Dimitriy at Nagoya. I just bought my stagea from them and couldn't fault them. I was undecided on which one to buy (as they have quite a few in stock). They were prepared to swap wheels over for me as well, but I decided on a silver one with 17" work wheels.

I agree, get everything checked over first before you sign on the dotted line. If you aren't happy with something in particular I'm sure the guys at Nagoya will fix you up
