Theres a G/Yaw sensor under the centre console that needs to be turned off for VDC to be shut off completely.

VDC wouldn't switch off for me... I turned it off and the light on the dash lit up, but as soon as I was sideways, it would turn back on!!! Very un-fun...

Bugger me. I feel lucky, just like my DVD player being region-agnostic and my screen on while in motion, despite no modified wiring.

I use 'google translate' on my android phone (not sure if its made for iPhones). Just take a picture of the menu and it translates to English! Give it a go.
