What Does This Button Do?

I bought myself an R33 gts-t. near the handbrake there is a momentory switch. It has a tube pictured on it with both an up and down arrow... when i press it i can hear a relay clicking but nothing seems to happen.

power doesn't feel different after clicking up and down? boost controllers can come in very different shapes and sizes. i would take a picture of it. you'll have a better chance of someone having a good guess...

yeah ill take a pic, definately a factory switch though (well looks like it anyways!),my aerial is broken but i dont think its the aerial because there is a switch on the left side of the dash near the wiper arm that looks like it might be the aerial?

yeah the aerial switch is above your left knee.

what year model is the car? manual or auto? could it be the traction/slip button?

its a series two r33 gts-t manual (i dont know if it makes a diff but its a type M 40th anniv.)

the symbol almost looks like a ciggy (a cylinder with a dividing line) and then there is an up and down arrow. the switch is momentory and definately looks factory. it is next to the cup holder. i can hear a relay clicking behind the dash when you press it

Sounds like the up/down switch for the aerial. Which is really high or really high (it doesn't got down unless there is no radio input)

sounds like ur centre console has been replaced with one from an auto. so it wont do anythin.

think it's supposed to be for power/snow or something.

i got a series 2 r33 type M 40th anniv. in manual and dont have the switch.

if you look through cars on carsales u'll see the autos with it.

but if it is clicking a relay under the dash, and it is just an auto thing, i'd be more inclined to say that the car was formerly an auto and has had the gearbox changed. maybe post up the vin number and i will check it in fast.

ok my camera wont upload so i drew it up on paint, this is very close to what is looks like. the switch only rocks towards the rear of the car (the arrow side)

On my car it raises the lighted mast on the front left corner of the bumper.

It allows the vertically challenged to see where the corner of the car is when parking.

ah that makes sense! there was an aerial on the fron passenger corner of my car which was removed for compliance. it must be the left over from that! no wonder it dosnt do anything the aerial is gone!
