hi all

Ive had my r33 gtst for about a year now

recently its developed a bit of a problem... when driving an you put the clutch in the revs drop right down to almost 0rpm nearly stalling(it has done on two occasions) and then rises back up to normal.

i am unsure as to what to do and would very much appreciate any advice

it has an FMIC, 3" turboback exhaust, dual stage boost controller (only running 8psi atm), r33 gtr fuel pump, BOV, pod filter, tein coilovers, upgraded coilpacks and other than that is pretty much stock. was serviced a couple of weeks ago and i have recently replaced the fuel filter.

cheers

I had that problem too, but it was because I had a bigger turbo, yours is standard so either as mentioned change bov back to standard or relocate air flow meter (afm) to another position and tune.

From what I know, it is occurring because air is going the wrong direction to the air flow meter ie the engine is sucking air and then when the bov releases, some of it is going back the other way or something like that.

I just changed my driving style. ie I used to put my foot down, reach max boost then clutch in and let the car roll.... instead just put ur foot down and then leave it in gear. it wont do it then.

hey mate,

i had a very similar problem to you - it was doing it intermittently so it was a headache to find the problem.. Anyway, the problem was a Pivot "Air Flow" Control gadget, so if you have anything aftermarket that screws around with air/fuel, maybe disconnect those to eliminate them from the equation...
