Rb20det Interference Or Not?

Just shredded my rb20det timing belt and wondering if I have to worry about bent valves...anyone

costly lesson for me using the wrong water pump which shredded new timing belt and destroyed engine ...

some people have been lucky though and not damaged the motor when this has happened. only way to know for sure will be to open it up.

rb20det is a non interference engine all the other rbs 20de 25 26 30 etc are inteference engines so you should get away with putting a new belt on dialling the timing settings back in nothing too hard if its bent valves you will have to pull it down but i doubt it

This is why I keep asking if its interference because over internet some are saying all rb's are interference and others that rb20det is non interference...

Are you sure rb20det is non interference?

only holden vl rb 30 are non interferance as they are single cam motor all skyline rb s are interfearance as they twin cam engines
