Yeah same here. Tried it again and no good.

I can select Bluetooth as Source, and can see all the play/stop buttons etc on the menu, but it has some kind of Message Box saying 'Bluetooth <Japanese>'. I wonder if there is a setting in the Bluetooth menu.

I have an iPhone 3GS and it is paired and working to dial numbers.

Hi guys..new here..well kind of anyway. Used to post back when i have my V35 (totalled blink.gif ). Anyway..now i'm back with the V36 (never learned my lesson biggrin.gif )..and since i can't remember my old user ID..had to register a new one..

Anyway, just bought myself a 2008 V36 coupe with Nav, music box, Side & Rear camera, leather seats. Not sure if i have the premium Bose or not (still no clue what model/package that is actually). I manage to work out quite a few of those Japanese menus/buttons (due to previous experience with my V35 cool.gif ) but i could not, for the life of me, get the bluetooth to work!!! :ermm: . I manage to get to the menu where there is "Bluetooth" in the menu but the "Bluetooth On" button is greyed out. There is only 3 selectable buttons there which is the Bluetoth password change (the one where you can enter numbers), Bluetooth info and a button which leads to a lists of Japanese menus.

Is my bluetooth on already? if not, how do i on it? Before anyone ask, i know i have bluetooth as there is the phone & voice commannd button on my steering wheel. HELP ME!!... :ermm:

PS: Oh yeah..i have a Sony Erricson Satio phone.

sorry to dig up an old thread, but how did you get bluetooth to turn on again? mine's greyed out as well and only have 3 options available.. i pressed something and then something else, and now the option to turn bluetooth on is no longer available...

Hi guys.... not too sure if everyone has found a way to play music from your phone via bluetooth but I had a bit of a play with it yesterday. I initially got my phone connected and can make calls but had trouble getting the system to play music from my phone. After some trying, I found out that it's because the system is set up to play music from the car's japanese owner's phone. I think all you need to do is to go to your bluetooth setting and select the right handset. I tried this and noticed that there are 2 phones setup with the previous owner's phone selected. So all i did was to select my phone and then delete the previous owner's phone from the list and I can now play music from my phone.

What phone you using there bud?

I have tried every phone anyone has in my house and none will work not even a crappy little Nokia C2 lol btw phones i tried are Iphone 3Gs, Iphone 4s, Smasung S2, HTC Velocity, HTC One (m7) and the Nokia and still no luck with the bluetooth streaming, the problem has to be software based as 3 yrs ago my 3Gs worked in my friends car...

Once the phone is paired via the normal means (aka. the instructions in this thread) then you should simply need to hit either the DISK button on the main control panel or Source button on the steering wheel controls and it should cycle through to Bluetooth music. Normally is cycles through Music Box, CD etc but once the bluetooth is connected then it should come up as another option.

I've actually heard that bluetooth music was only introduced to the USDM models in 2010, so I really don't know why my 2008 JDM has it.

Mine has a nasty habit of randomly disconnecting though for some reason. Works 100% with just the phone but as soon as I try playing music, it will play for a random amount of time and then disconnect the bluetooth. Turning bluetooth off/on on the phone fixes it up straight away but its still makes it too painful to use. I am guessing that it has something to do with it being a 2008 bluetooth system and a 2011 phone.

Sudden thought......the above is with my old Galaxy S2 and I actually have a Galaxy S4 now. When I get home, i'll give it a try and see if it has the same problem.

Mine's a 2007 and I have Bluetooth music and I never had any issues with playing music or making phone calls. No cuts, disconnections, nothing. Tried with iPhone 4, 4s and 5 all good.

    • To be fair passengers who aren't silly and have been in proper fast cars have often been pretty impressed once you hit 4th gear
    • I suppose that's true. Barring almost any situation, I'll never sell so what the market does is kind of irrelevant to me. It's possible I'd make most of my money back. That spreadsheet I mentioned? Maybe I could make back more than what the car's total costs thus far are, but the parts and all that is possibly a different story... Thanks for reading. It was certainly a good moment and just makes the ties to the car that much stronger. It's exciting that the option will be there to bring it over, however I have some plans with a shop that may end up keeping the car there longer, not sure. Coupled with the fact I want to move there and haven't solidified any path yet. So in a way, it feels like I'm in a limbo state that is uncertain; time will tell.
    • No worries, everything worked out in the end. I just wanted to make the point that it doesn't matter where it comes from (I.E Australia), it can be broken or improperly built. I would still purchase from these companies in the future. B2R - Not certain how that finished, this was on a car I wired a few things and street tuned. I know the owner ended up shipping the motor back to Australia for investigation. Hopefully some of it is covered under warranty.  Turbosmart - I always pressure test everything that goes on my car. It's a habit from my career in oil and gas. I run two 40mm's and both had major leaks from the actuator to exhaust portion through the shaft. I returned both, they shipped me back two and one was leaking and the other had a 38mm top (40mm gate with 38mm actuator cap, no idea how that happens). Eventually after a lot of back and forth I found myself with two non-leaking gates. I believe this happens a lot more then people would like to believe but you would never know if you don't pressure test them prior to installation. Crank Motorsport - Issued a full refund and let me keep the seat rails. I turned them into scrap metal for other projects. GKTech - Shipped me out a replacement and asked that I modify it as per my idea and that they would do the same for a future revision. ATP - Can just needed a large shim to bolt up properly.  Haltech - They started an actual proper Beta channel for firmware's a few months back and stopped using the general public for testing. I'm now much happier.  Speedtek - f**k Speedtek. I would love to watch them burn.
    • I've got a Turbosmart wastegate, ATP catch can, many GK Tech parts and Haltech everything. Everything's been perfect, sorry to hear your experience wasn't the same
