my dr30 got this1 in 08 its an 83 but undergoing iron mask front and maybe s2 rear but undersided on that, so kinda series 1.5 atm. i bought it with a fresh forged fj20 with microtec but stock .48 turbo, exhaust and 1jz cooler had 230 rwhp in that form, also had battery in boot but otherwise basicly standard not mucked with. downside : standard driveline, brakes and suspension which realy needed upgrading. ive since fitted bilsteins upfront to hr31 struts converted to kings compact springs with cusco tops (not yet machined for more camber) and strut bar, whiteline r31 fr swaybar, hr31 hicas rear swaybar, s13 tein rear coilovers, b pillar floor bar, z31 5stud hubs with r33 gtr brembo rotors/calipers and 1 1/16" master cyl on r30 s2 booster, hr31 Aarms internal handbrake, 3.9 ratio clsd r200 with large capacity cover and 4 bolt shafts. wheels are work vs-ss 18x8 and 9 +18,+13 225/40, 235/40. interior is bride seats not sure wether im retaining the rear yet. not yet fitted is rb25style box, 3" single t.shaft, custom manifolds, gt35/40, 660 injectors, 600x300 cooler, ems ecu and new exhaust etc. hoping for 350ish rwhp? i want to move the motor back slightly which ill look at when gearbox getting done.

future plans are fit iron mask bonnet and lower spoiler, paint car lower half black with DOHC turbo decals, paint wheel centers gold, lower the front abit more. ( rears fully wound down in pic but itl come up abit... ) braided lines throughout.

last but not least is the c210 coupe i bought this yr. needs alot of body work but its original paint n panels so nothing hiding which is good i guess. ive fitted converted hr31 struts upfront with compact tein springs, cusco tops (also need machining like the dr) bilstein inserts, front strut bar, rear bilsteins with cusco springs and tops, hr31 hicas swaybars fr and rr, b pillar bar, r30 s2 booster with r33 master, r33 clutch master (required for booster clearance) r33 calipers and r.rotors, r32 gtr fr rotors, 3.9 ratio r200 clsd diff with 4bolt shafts, r30 rear Xmember, hr31 Aarms. wheels are rays 17x8 and 9 +31 with 10mm spacers upfront 225/45 and 235/45. with the hr31 struts and Aarms it gained ruffly 20mm front track and 30mm rear give or take. gearbox is an r32 turbo 5sp with mod'd Lseries bellhousing. ive got a 910 bluebird single piece shaft which will need shortning, both ends are right. engine will more than likely be a bored/stroked Lseries 4cyl with efi turbo which ive already got from my old 720 hence the L4 head on L6 bottom i did for positioning purposes. the thought of an rb30et crosses my mind alot but think i will run the L4 as ive got everything to doit and its somewhat more original and oldschool cool. the capacity is 2341cc (92mm stroke, 90mm bore) so 50ish cc short of the original L6 but lighter and cheaper rego. will require engine mounts and a sort thru my various Lsumps to see what works. i have an ems Qi4 setup with a ca18 crank angle sensor on a custom adaptor which fits were the dizzy is and m&w coil packs, 550cc injectors, L18e intake and hks t3 manifold shown in pic and the old t3/4 turbo off my ti. hoping for 250 rwhp at around 15psi with this setup. not heaps but should be fun.

plans are repaint in white, black wheel centers, jdm round chrome tailights, fender mirrors, chin spoiler, jap GT badges so yeah after the jdm look. hr31 seats already in there with black interior to match...

Hey Jon, you got that nissan fever mate!

First time I have seen a wagon with the S3 front on it, liiks SHMICKO!

And that C210 has changed hands like 4 times in the last year or so hey? i got most of what was under the bonnet here in my garage (thanks to silent shadow)

The DR lookes like it will be a pearler, good stuff! (I am going iron mask front, but standard bonnet...)

wow all those cars have really great wheels!(except the wagon lets the team down!) 5 stud conversion on the DR looks fantastic.

The HR31 seats in the c210 look great too,

would be a fair bit better than the original ones i would think. any idea on how hard it was to fit them in?

enlarged diff cover ? i want ! were/ wat car is it off ? z31?

That rear diff cover was from the FJ20 JDM S12 or Z18 S12 from memory, but you can get a similar thing off the later model short nose viscous diffs for under $100 on ebay

thanks for the comments guys

the large r200 diff cover and 3.9 ratio came out a y31 cima, been told same as nissan works (nismo) option back in the day. has provision for oil cooler lines aswell

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
