Rb25 S1 With Rb25 S2 Coilpack Ignitor And Coilpacks

hey all..

im looking at buying a forged rb25det S1 long motor..

now it doesnt come with coilpacks..

my rb25det i have now has splitfires and plazmaman plenum...

can i use the rb25 S2 coilpacks and swap over the coilpack loom?

are the intake manifolds the same for both rb25 s1 and s2?

yeah pretty sure you can swap in the s2 stuff. the ECU makes no difference as it just fires off the trigger for the ignitor (ie no ignitors onboard) so doesnt matter if it an external ignitor or coil pack with inbuilt ignitor.

and yes the intake manifolds are the same

the throttle body's/TPS are different also

if you already have the complete setup for the s2, then just drop the s1 motor in bare (so no AFM, throttle body, etc) and you won't have a drama. then you won't have to do any stuffing around with wiring, you just plug everything in and it will run fine.
