my wipers on my 33 wont turn off

have replaced the stalk , checked all the fuses , they're fine

then i went to check the brown box near the booster and well , it doesnt exist on my car ...

checked my parts car and THAT has one , with wiring that goes down the inside of the strut top and to the front of the car

any ideas how to fix this issue ?

i would like to turn my wipers off without having to pull the plug out of the stalk everytime i dont want them on ...

it may be that the motor is shot. not really sure about the brown box thing, and can't really go look at a car to see, but my grandfathers camry had the wipers start playing up. they were driving along and the wipers just started going mental. turns out that the voltage regulator in the alternator had let go and it was charging at 18 volts. other than blowing pretty much every light that was on at the time, it also fried the wiper motor (even though the wipers weren't on at the time) and then, even after the alternator was fixed, the moment the key was turned on the wipers would go. only fix was a new motor

ive just swapped the motor with a series 2 one ,

doesnt line up properly but the plugs the same (running series 2 engine etc) and its not the motor thats shot

and ive replaced the stalk

so not 100% sure what it could be

any chance it could be the alternator?

my battery has been loosing charge over night in the last couple of nights come to think of it ...

that's probably just winter killing the battery (happens when the battery is old and then the temps start to drop).

easy way to test if it's the alternator is with a multimeter.

could be anything really. could be that box you are missing. could be just a dodgy wire earthing out.

yeah, im not 100% sure :(

my car was on defect for a couple months therefore not getting driven so i think the battery is on its way out anyways

was going to wire up a switch for the wipers but its easier said then done , and by doing that i wont have a "home" sensor on the wipers so will have to switch them off when they are

at the bottom of the windscreen -.-

waiting to hear back from a mate who knows skyline wiring back the front but at this stage ill have to get my hands on a multimeter and test the alternator

electrical stuff like this does my head in !!
