Gearbox jumps when clutching in

with my 33, when i clutch down from fully engaged, sometimes i can feel my engine 'jump'. it sounds like a dull rebound sound and i can feel the engine/box jolt. At high revs, it makes me misshift because it seems like the H pattern is slightly off its usual position (like putting in 3rd, instead of pushing the lever straight up, I have to move the lever slightly to the left then push up). could this be a clutch problem, or a collapsed gearbox/ engine mount etc?

sounds like a broken mount or possible backlash through the drivetrain.

Easy way to check is pull your hadbrake on, put in gear and see if anything goes thump.

my bet is a engine mount.

does it sound like metallic thump when moving away from stop?

umm i didnt notice much when moving from stop

but say im moving slowly (in first gear & the clutch is fully engaged) I clutch-in to shift, yeah, it does sound kinda like a metallic thump, and i kinda can feel it thru the clutch pedal like a thump/ pulse

in my car i can't feel anything thru the clutch pedal... the sound is coming from under the car...

I have a very similar problem, have checked rear gearbox mount, uni joints, diff, engine mounts and cannot find a problem. Am thinking its clutch related but do not have the time to pull apart at the moment...

I too have this problem, it seems to be if you do a slow mid-high rev shift... I think it is backlash (in mine anyway)... But i think my box is stuffed.
