Congrats Chris, You've made the right choice mate, I can't see why having 600 cc more of the engine capacity and 1 more turbo and 2 more wheel that can put down the power to the ground could be worse than buying GTST (apart from fuel bills, no offence to any GTST driver :P ) plus you've got a factory front mount cooler rather than a sidemount interwarmer.

Hope to see the pics soon!

LOL!

Whoever is telling you it was a mistake, they should harden the fuck up and grow some balls.

All cars cost you money, some just cost more.

You like it, you pay for it.

As stated, people are jealous. You should've seen the shit I got when I bought my gtr. People freaked out "No way, you could've had your house deposit down instead" and "I would never waste my money on outdated cars for that price". I just ignore it and think jealous f*kers.

And a not-to-be-neglected item is that by 2012, your car will have depreciated less than most others (that are the same price as yours to-day.

So keep a record of what cars are going for to-day; and tell me if I'm wrong in 2 years' time!!! :bunny:

I am not quite following you on what you are on about...

:)

Car depreciation...?

You only worry about that if you want to sell it.

Looks the goods mate.

I bought myself a '89 GT-R almost a year ago now.

Its my daily driver, and never had any serious issues.

I've had to buy a few bits and pieces, but more for piece of mind. (Did have a stuffed coil that caused a slight misfire, but replaced with splitfires, which I was planning anyway.)

Im in love with it, just know it will drain my wallet eventually as I chase more power....

Forget what others say, they are just jealous!!

Enjoy your car, care for it, and it will reward you with a grin from ear to ear day in day out. :(

I bought a modified and unmaintained (air filters, in particular which killed the HKS2530s within weeks of having it) 1989 R32 GTR so it needed work. Once it was all done it hasn't missed a beat.

Nice to see you have a 1989 one too. :(

Yeah, look for ages for a later one, 1993/94. But my one was completely stock. Just what I wanted, so I know that the mods done, are done properly.

However wont be going overboard with it. Want to keep it as stock looking as I can...

What Tex is saying is that the modern cars (now $20k) will be worth a lot less ie, $12-13k in 2 years. R32 GTR's are going to be worth pretty much the same they are now.

Ah ok...

All the better for buying a GTR and so when ppl say "Oh, should not have bought that car, it cost so much"...

Well it didn't cost that much at all :(

  • 3 weeks later...

Haha looks exactly like mine did last October - Dead stock GTR.

Everyone tries to pay me out about "you sure you want to drive it, I mean you wouldn't want to spin a bearing' etc. But who cares what other people think, your money you spend it how you want.

Just remember to ditch the ceramics asap!
