Hey, I know its not a skyline, but want a turbo for my SR20DET, aim is 380-400RWHP at between 1.8 and 2 BAR on fully built engine (am upgrading from my GT28 400HP).

Looking at a GT30 500hp jobbie, with either the .63 or .82 exhaust AR.

I know the .82 will make the power I want (have seen it done) but have 2 questions.

Will the .63 make this power? (I dont have any experience with them).

Is the difference in lag between the .63 and the .82 high?

Please note, have looked up all the specs and the ONLY differnece between the turbos is the AR, all wheel diameters etc are the same.

Not really looking for guesses, rather if anyone has had any experience.

Cheers

i have a mate who is making a smidge over 350 on his sr with a tdo6 , might be worth thinking about. and it has a bit more left in it too.

as for the .63 or .82 , being a small engine the .82 may be a bit laggy , its similar to a few mates of mine , they have opted for the .82 over the 1.00 or 1.06 whatever it is , to suit a vl turbo.

lag and power was rather different between the two , and thats on a 3l engine , so maybe the .82 may be a bit big for ur intended application.

im quite sure u will reach ur hp level , with either turbo though.

The .82 exhaust is quite laggy on an SR20 unless your getting some big cams in your built motor. Sure you will be able to run big boost through that exhaust housing but the response just wont be there, it'll be a big difference from your 400hp gt28 which are a very nice turbo for an SR ;)

Personally i'd at least start off with the .63 exhaust housing and see how it goes. I've seen one on a mates stockish SR and it was a good thing, little bit laggier than a 400hp GT28 but it bite a little harder when it hits boost as well.
