do we need to organise the snags and sundries for the BBQ

if so, should probably go visit austral meat and get them direct from the wholesaler n save a couple bob

will need bread, sauce, mustard, onions n all the other stuff too - best to get that before the event

-D

i use Frew trading for wholesale meats

Where are they? Austral is just around the corner from the Drive in at Gepps X

Should probably talk to nigel and see if we can get the cash before the day, go shopping the day beforehand and do the food prep (chop stuff n tupperware it)

Need:

Mustard

Sauce

Onions (lots, chopped)

Bread Loaves

Olive oil

Sausages

and maybe mince patties too? *shrug*

Serviettes

-D

patties don't go down that well

onions can get from galipo foods or other food wholesalers

i see you like mustard as that's #1 condiment :):D

Frew is at dry creek

KK australs a bit closer, i figure if we're gonna be buying for repco we may as well get the meat and then everything else from the same supermarket so they can claim the reciept on tax.... bit of garlic might not go astray... if i was doing sangas and bread for members i'd have to get cheese and bacon but for an open day that's just too damn expensive

one other thought - bbq sauce?

I was told by the boss that she will be giving us $50 towards meat, and providing the BBQ with a full gas bottle etc. So I'm thinking if the club purchases the supplies first, they could be reimbursed on the day?

I would like to see any profit made from the snag sale going back into SAU.

$50 of sangas will only go so far

you'd be looking at a $20 sangas, $10 bread, $5 onions, $10 sauce, mustard etc $5 serviettes

thats my estimate for a $50 budget, and even then it might not go very far

be that as it may, since im just appearing with the car on the day, i take no responsibility for how any money is spent. advice given freely.

Its just a small bbq..

I asked Damo, and in turn Steve has offerend to cook the BBQ, so he can organise it how he wishes.

This is not an SAU event, just a favour for a local business.

Steve: you have a PM.

ok PM recieved

Im having issues with my car atm. nistune isnt working right and I'm only getting half the power I should be - cars probably going to be in pieces this coming w/e... should replace me if u can pls Nigel

good stuff! This is what i like to hear!

BBQ, gas and cash will be provided for meat, and the club has permission to pocket the profits!

I will PM people when I get home with exact details.

thankyou all!

Sounds good Nigel.

Of course, undoubtedly more snags will be required, but I'm certain there would be no objection to the Club purchasing extra where required. Seeing as the profits will be going back to the club anyways.

Steve/Damo, I'm assuming you guys have taken the BBQ role. Get whatever snags you guys judge to be required for the day (cans of drinks also).

Oh, and my Stagea is now 100% available for this display Nigel, should it be required.

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
