BASHO
I'm selling my 98 R34GT-t Manual and I'm absolutely puzzled as to what to ask for it after being offered $7000.00 on a trade for a 99 BMW 318iS with $14990.OO. I'm begining to think I'm in for a bath or two , then I look at CARSALES and see most R34GT-t manuals at around $18000.00 and up so I feel a bit better. I'm asking $15990.00 for mine with stock wheels on here and $16250.00 with stock wheels on Carsales but I realy haven't got a clue whether I'm asking to much or shortchanging myself. Any thoughts anyone ? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/322406-r34gt-t-how-much/ Share on other sites
Kujotk
sounds about right, just because people are asking for $18k+ doesn't mean that's what it's worth nor does it mean they will get that price. 7K trade in is rediculous $16-18 sounds like a good private figure in my opinion. But then again i'm assuming yours is in reasonably good condition with less than 100k on the odometre, ok service history. Drives well. good luck and post some pics of the car up Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/322406-r34gt-t-how-much/#findComment-5258219 Share on other sites

666DAN
Not long ago I was offered more than your sale price as a trade-in on my car, strange how some people have a lend with price when they consider it "too hard basket" they hope you'll do a cartwheel and hand over the keys, meanwhile they've just doubled their money....pfft Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/322406-r34gt-t-how-much/#findComment-5258383 Share on other sites
Count Grantleyish
The selling market is pretty much dead, no pulse. I have trouble selling my R33 GT-R which is reasonably priced and I'm open to negotations. Expect some dreamers, which is pretty much normal. It's the way it is. You forgot to add an important element in your advertising Al. ie. why you are selling it !!!! Advert should contain words like, "Owned and loved by elderly gent, who now has to revert to an automatic due to reasons pertaining to my spine" In the Prelude Australia forums, the guys regard Preludes F/S & owned by older dudes like us as being holy grails! We tend to take care of our wives better than the younger guys too cough... cough... Didn't realy want to play the crook card even though it's true as I thought it smacks of "the dog ate my homework " or "I'm here from the Depertment of Taxation--I'm here to help you" sort of thing , probably worth it though--although truth and advertising are often starange bedfellows. As for the wife thing--' Takes all night to do what I used to do all night ' comes to mind As a sidenote the add has just been thrown of Ausrotary--IFIIK why Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/322406-r34gt-t-how-much/#findComment-5261175 Share on other sites
eightsixboy
The market is pretty much dead atmo, I've been trying to sell my GTT for awhile now and in my opinion mine is a ripper of a GTT but have had little to no interest at all. The price your asking in my opinion is low, no to long ago 20k up was the norm for a decent gtt. GTR-N1
How about, "Owned and cherished by mature gent" then? That's how I've sold my cars before + the fact that I needed to use my mother's address closer to the city. I just resumed meeting up with a Salvos friend @ his stall, on the main street of our town. He goes into hospital for back surgery in 3 weeks. He's just sold his Clubman - couldn't get into or out of it anymore. He's about to buy a '76 Corvette for $34K, but hasn't driven it yet. He's been in my car and was very impressed as we went through some twisties here in the Mtns. I told him about your car > so Rick is mulling it over. He's after RWD anyway. I agree with you there on the low price but you know how it is when you finaly make the decision to move on you like to just get on with it if I'm going to take a hit on this I'd rather take the hit and go forward than push for 2 or 3K more and end up taking a hit anyway--just IMO though. I also need to sell before I change my mind and spend stupid amounts putting new seats in cause of my stupid back--then 'll come the sway bars and links, then the nistune and frontmount and boost controler and soon enough Ill decide that I just have to have a set of Tiens or Drummonds cause I wont be able to work out how I've lived without them , then out will go the Enkeis and in with Rays cause we know hoe essential that extra 650 grams gain PW is an the streeter and by then Ill be looking for wife No 4 cause I'll have worn No three out---and thats how it goes. So I realy actualy do need to sell. Took your advice there and bumped it with the extra info , bit of a jump Corvette---Skyline R34GT-t but thanks for the prop , much appreciated , it'd be a good saving though, and a more practical car , Corvettes are great for a belt but a bit squashy for room.
