Engine Still Revving When Changing Gears

Hi all,

I've had my stagea just shy of 3 weeks. One thing I have noticed about it is when I'm changing gears between 2nd and 3rd (and 4th and 5th) the engine revs slightly higher.....even though my foot is off the throttle? I would think like all other manual cars the revs should come down once the throttle is off.

Any ideas?

your in the right section

it could be that your idle valve is gunked up and its not controlling the idle propperly

its a pretty easy fix if you've got some spanars or a selection of the right length sockets

just grab some carby/throttle body cleaner in a can before you start

look through the tutorial section on the main page and there is one called iac valve cleaning i think, follow that and you should be ok

mine does that slightly untill its warm . like before it gets on the gauge . once its on the gauge its fine . could also be your bov if not standard
