Hey guys,

I have a kakimoto muffler. I recently just had a look inside and found it to be corroding?

What's the best method of fixing it? Or am I just better off getting it replaced?

I also noticed there was a metal scrub inside it, should I take it out or is it there for a purpose?

Cheers,

I would suggest that the scrub is there to quieten the exhaust down a bit. If it is easy to get to try taking it out and see what difference it makes to the sound and performance of the car.

I would not worry about the corrosion on the inside until it becomes a problem and makes a hole in the pipe.
