And Roy, you werent seriously paying out Doughboy were you? I thought you were having a sarcastic go at nicknick.

Depends...if he lets me overtake him at track days, just to preserve my fragile ego then all is good. :) ...or even better buddies up with me for the Dutton Rally, his combi can be the spares van :(

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. What a laugh. When will these dreamers learn to actually pull a decent time before blowing their bags. Thats the only problem with these forums - too many dreamers. Did this "10 sec GTR" run at WSID???? probably not.

Yep. It is. And it has run a nine. And it will again soon. Even if it never ran again, I still pulled the time.

Fact is, this dickdick guy has insulted people I know.He should pull his head in & run a decent time before dreaming on & sticking it up other Skyline owners that are nothing but helpfull & decent people.

As for my car - it has been off the road for a while(have been playing with other cars) but will be up & running soon with a totally new setup.

What will it run? I'll wait & find out before posting on here wont I!!!

True. On another note. Alice would be wiked. Not far from no speed limits - I wish.

Just lost my licence for the 15th time!!!!! That is not a typo!!!

Got to the point where I am learning for my pilots licence. At least up there there is no speed limit. Biggest problem is I cant work out how to fit the wings on my GTR yet.

well, I force myself to run thru the no speed limit zone on the 50k trip to work each day....of course its not as fun as it could be with the speed limiter still in :D Also, not a corner to be found for miles out there

but, its not *really* that hard to stick to the speed limit is it? You need to get out on the circuit more.....I'd lost my license 3 times before 20 (pretty poor effort), but now I just get it out of my system on the track instead.

Hi Munro, get that pilot's licence, fly to New Zealand and get a driver's licence there. Works for a few guys. But you are so well known, Adelaide ain't that big and your cars are easily spotted, so it probably wouldn't work for you.

On another subject, that other turbo car of yours, it has a water to air intercooler doesn't it? If it has, how do you find it works in the summer heat?

It's legal to drive here with alot of international licenses. There was a scam a few years ago where people were getting their international license (a generic one issued from NRMA and other "motoring" groups) without having a "real" license first. I'm pretty sure you can still do that.....

Hi Steve, at last count, about 1 million visitors to Australia each year drive legally without an Australian license. I have no idea how many do it illegally.

Hi Chris, I don't think they have international licenses anymore, you just use your own country's licence, that's what I do when I go overseas now.

If you have an NZ licence, you just have to remember the formulas....

I = U (as in fush and chups)

A = AR (as in larmb chops)

Sheep = Gurlfriend

All Blacks = Gods

Once you have that mastered, you can pass yourself off easily.

When i went OS, i was told that an OZ licence is all thats required to hire cars from OS outlets, so was good enough for me

... that said to drive in Indonesia you have to be OVER .05 otherwise its just not fun, and its far too easy for the locals to psyche you out with their driving, a bit of dutch courage and you can mix it with the best drivers that Indonesia has to offer. :P

I sure as hell hope that NSW RTA doesnt recognise an Indo licence as an quivelant, or French for that matter, they are nutz behind the wheel as well :flamed:

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
