soooo....

where can i grab brakepads round melb @ a good price asap? have deca on the weekend and i dont think i can do another day on the current ones

looking at pads for track and street duties....

Hamish.

Call GSL rally sport and you'll have them on wednesday from qld.

Get HP-X or the A1RM's for a higher temp pad. I'm using A1RMs and they're good for track work too.

A1RM's are track pads and chew through rotors really badly in cold mornings. I used them on my daily and needed new rotors after 30,000km. After speaking to QFM, they are track oriented pad and will chew through rotors quickly when they are not up to temperature (ie daily driving)

I have QFM HPX pads now which are great for street. Cheaper and better than Bendix Ultimates but I have been told they will not hold after a couple of runs on a track.

For motorkhana/daily driving the HPX will be your best option.

Brakes plus in Highpoint. EBC Reds for teh brembos cost me $600 or so. not too bad and a great pad for street and track, also no icky black dust on your wheels, teh powder stuff that does come from them wipes off with wet sponge due to no metal compounds!

    • Realised I never posted this , also I never got a price
    • I'm glad to hear you've joined the SKI club. Spend the Kids Inheritance.
    • I have a VALCON if anyone wants it, I have no idea why you'd want to have VVT specifically broken out of the ECU as opposed to running it off the FCON/whatever standalone you have.
    • Hi Yes we're a bit optimistic we might get something out of sealing up the two pipes of the external wastegate and reactivating the stock one. I believe the orginal stock wastegate was tack welded shut. It doesn't budge and visually looks closed and sealed. The car has noticeably more lag so it could be at least part of the problem, maybe all. It's definately one of the key changes made since last tune. And it's one that's more difficult to fully understand and measure, not like for instance timing or cylinder compression.  Thanks for that feedback, we'll let you know how this progresses. Fingers crossed.   Regards Rob
