it could be done with the block in the bay , but u will have to take almost every ancillary off , inlet and exhaust sides , thermostat will have to come out as there is a welsh plug behind it (i think so on that engine anyway hehehe)

best to do it outta car

may i ask why ur doing it?

one rusted/leaking?

Most of the plugs can be replaced with the head off.

The Nissan engine designers, in their infinite wisdom, chose to hide one behind the LH engine mount, and another one behind an elbow attached to the thermostat housing. And there was another one, in an impossible-to-get-at place, but I can't remember where.

My secret to removing them is to gently punch them (off centre) until they spin in the hole, then grab with vice-grips to pull them out.

Repco carry the right sizes (22mm and 30mm from memory).
