You do know how to spell peeled right? Pealed with an A refers to ringing a bell. That's been bugging me since the first cruise I went on :geek:

lol that fits that you said that... I picked it up ages ago but then got distracted by something shiny. Even funnier that you gave us the description of 'peal' in addition :P

TECHNICALLY it's not a peel at all... it's an ugly metal structure. Gaaawwwwdd >_<

An permanent Apple Peel thread would be good except that then we have to filter through heaps of pages and we don't know at a glance when the next one is, unless you can continuously change the thread title, but still, all that filtering. I kind of prefer it seperate

serious?, what is this a grammar competition?

What's wrong with asking for clarification? I was genuinely confused. I thought there might be some hidden significance to the different spelling.

If it's a pun I don't get it.

As far as making it a permanent thread, I have to scroll through the new topics on SAU to find the latest Apple Peel/Peal post, whereas once I subscribe to a topic I get emails of every post. I find it easier that way but it's just my personal preference.

was a fun night... cant believe how lucky we were twice....

And Jess worked out why I was reported to the police 3 times when I was traveling to the maccas because I couldn't work it out as I was not speeding, letting the gate off or anything stupid... but then she remembered that clapped out piece of crap green ford with the green p plater and 2 passengers... they wouldnt let me pass when they were doing 70 in an 80 zone or 90 in a 100 zone and when I got a chance to overtake them they speed up to 120 as I was going to overtake... they were pretty much the only car we passed getting to maccas.

Anyway we can't head up to king lake again for a while as the cops said they are going to be there again for a while.

BTW, thanks Dean for getting us back to the area via the back way!

great night guys, had about 20 cars come to the meet, then as we left a few went home and a couple of the guys followed the ones going home but managed to meet up with us, then we hit kinglake...as we got to kinglake we saw a few other randoms that did a kinglake run, we parked our car..some of us parking abit awkard as in not between the lines...then a 4x4 cop comes...gets out asks whos car are those (pointing to the ones parking illegal) and tells us his sick of us coming up here and making noise..even thou that was pretty much our first run down kinglake...starts taking down license and regos...then 1 cop tells me to pop the bonnet and as his lookin thru the engine bay with his torch we hear a few guys yelling out from down the street "THIS IS AUSTRALIA GET SOME REAL FKN CARS..AUSSII MUSCLE ALL THE WAY..FKN SHYT RICE CRAP BLAH BLAH" as they were walking towards us and that suddenly got the cops attention, as the 3 drunk guys didnt see the big 4 x 4 cop car with massive POLICE stickers...so the cop tells all of us get out of here and dont ever come back again. so first of all id like to thank johnno for making the maps..even thou there were some mistakes :P , all the guys for attending...and big thanks to the drunk guy from the pub ;)

Ahhhh lucky this weekend was planned to do a big lot of nothing, I only just got up ;)

Drive was awesome... Cops at King Lake were so RUDE!!! The ones at Mill Park were really cool though and chatty though. I can understand why they are there, we saw quite a few tossers enter and exit the Maccas... I didn't know it was so bad.

All in all the regulars drove really well, the pace was good through Kinglake, when people start pushing it accidents start happen so it was more enjoyable to keep it contained. That was pretty much the reason why I don't like the coppers for treating us like we just murdered someone... Of course they can't see how we drive but out of all of the people on the road I don't think we were really that bad.

ps. Got home and there's a new silver commodore side swiped opposite my driveway. Turn out some young guy had an epileptic fit while driving, side swiped the car then ended up in a pole! :P The guy was ok but it's pretty scary, don't go having epileptic fits anyone!

Police knocked on the Door at about 11pm, talked to Ryan to see if anyone in the house was the owner of the Commodore. Heaps of people in the street, no pics of event but might snap some of the car, not pretty!

I think we'll have to find a new playground for a while...

    • You may need two of these unless they are still in place: https://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/rear-seat-cushion-lower-anchor-assembly-suit-nissan-skyline-p-2091.html
    • These are sold all the time at Walmart and like others have said the angle is "more eco friendly". It is slightly cheaper. Oil-contaminated plastics cannot be recycled so less of it is better, but you need a whole bunch of extra stuff to handle this. You need probably one clean 5 quart oil jug you set aside to use as an intermediate holding tank. You need your local hazmat to return your oil catch pan AND you need to make sure whatever oil catch pan you use can hold engine oil without any risk of leaking during transport. Or you have dedicated used engine oil containers that your local curbside recycling will drain and return. Personally I have stuck to just buying 5 quart bottles because this is just too much mess to be worth the hassle.
    • Update...  After my last update there was two issues I ran into. The first was the driveshaft, mainly that I wanted a 1350 joint on both ends as I am making ~700+whp... Spicer makes a 1350 yoke out of the CD, but looking everywhere all I could find was 1310's for the rear diff face yoke for the R200 (Mine happens to be a z32 swap). Until I found Driftmotion out of CA makes billet R200 flange yokes, I reached out to them to verify if they offered an Old style R200 not the 350z style, and Arron said they had a few in both styles. Anyways Arron over there is awesome, so I gave him my measurements and a week or so later I got my new driveshaft. The fit up is solid, however I did need to remove the cup on the back of my CD as the shaft yoke was too wide to fit in the cup. The driveshaft is sorted and will handle everything I throw at it. I also tig'd up a mild steel trans mount. I used an energy suspension T56 trans mount as they work for the CD, it's universal so cheaper and easier to find. I made a decent mount, I am absolutely not a fabricator but It will work. I intend on replacing It at some point with something I model in CAD and send to send cut send. When I built it I used some trig to get the operating angles right since I did not have a driveshaft at the time. I left myself some gap to shim the trans up with plates to get it dialed in. The only thing that bugs me is I went a touch too narrow on the cross bar, but it supports and functions well.  However my current and persisting issue is with the clutch. The first pass of "Final" install on the trans I reused the pivot ball and fork from the CD as the setup was identical to what I was running on my RB big box. However once it was installed  it was clear I did not get the full travel only half. I thought it could be that I am running the transmission plate or the fact there is really 2 pivot ball sizes 41mm and 54mm. Mazworx was not super helpful and said "the bell housing was dimensionally the same an OEM one", and that I need to "use an RB26 push config" which is technically what I was using. So I ordered the 54mm pivot ball incase that is correct, Tonight I swapped it in and it also does not seem correct. I am going to spend some time researching, because I hope they don't mean I also need to run the stamped steel RB26 fork, and I want to avoid purchasing the $500 tilton kit. Either way this is where I am currently stuck... One other note about the Mazworx housing, the clutch slave provision does not fit either, so I will need to clearance material to make it sit flush with the mounting face. Side note, I am using a RB25 Spec twin disk clutch, It worked great on my previous box, their kit is the same for GTS-T and GTR so I don't think the clutch is the problem.
    • 100%  I actually enjoy driving the Tiguan around, has adaptive dampers, launch control, TRI zone climate control. With the old set of tyres, Continental Sport Contact 5, it kept up to my friend's S13 going through Old Pac. Yeah of course, drove it literally just 2 months ago.
    • If you have an active leak it would be badly contaminated again by now....I'm pretty sure it is just residual. BTW I suggested checking under the oil cap, not radiator cap. Finally, cooling system pressure testers are cheap to buy, that will tell you with a reasonable degree of confidence if there is a leak anywhere in that system.
