My Non V-spec R34 has the nismo version 2 MDF and i can see the intake and exhaust temp.. Not too sure wheree the sensor is located tho...

Cheers.

Matt

There are temp sensors located in the drivers side of the intercooler core, and the dump pipe just before the front pipe flange. They only provide signals for the MFD and dont link into the ecu.

The nismo upgrade kits do come with extra sensors, too depending on what type/version. Like 2 bar reading map sensor, instead of 1.2bar.

Also, I'm going to add upgraded swaybars to my list :P.

Thanks! Got an e boost street, black box. Nice and compact.

Damn you Steve-o!! My R32 would of been mad fun on texi!

A couple of pics when I was parked at texi. Surprise upgrade visually is the nismo sideskirt extensions that help fatten car lol.

Mate of mine painted em for me after I fixed em up and got 2 pac dg white colour matched.

Got the wastegate actuators and fitted em up. Was a real pain to do as there is no room, but all good now.

Also got a hold of a nismo cat converter to help free up the exhaust a bit more. I'll fit it up when I can be bothered crawling under the car again.

Sway bars have been ordered in too. :P

post-12712-1288142164_thumb.jpg

why not just get a standard high flow cat from ebay etc? like a 120CPI?

There is a place for EBay parts.... and they call them GTST's.

Nobody in their right mind puts ebay parts on their GTR(unless its wearing a genuine Nismo, or equalivent brand name).

Can i ask, is it still wearing TE-37 look a like ROTA's, how are those.... lot of people say "mean" things about ROTA wheels...

Will be interested !!!!

but dam they look the bizzz

I don't usually get ebay gear, just my choice.

I've had a metal cat (barrel type) fall to bits on my last car, and it was a well known one too. Don't think an ebay one would handle it!

Yep HKS actuators. Came with crush washers, zip ties, hose, t piece, instructions and yellow jap stickers lol.

I'm very happy with the Rota's, considering they only cost me $1300, not including tyres. Would of liked more dish, and they would look better if I lowered the car :P

I'd love some advans or similar, but don't have $3800+ handy

The only thing I had to get was hub rings to center the wheels on the hub. If the stock wheels had an offset of +12 I wouldn't need the rota's!

Fitted the sway bars this weekend, less roll now, and one of the guys thought I had aftermarket coilovers lol.

Nismo cat is in. You don't notice how bad the compliance/high flows are until you get a better cat!

Got a brand new HKS High power silent stainless steel exhaust and fitted that too, so shiny! Now there is no more kinked bend piping, crappy resonators and horrible drone.

It is nice and quiet when you want it to be and has a great note when the go pedal is pushed.

It all bolted up sweet and everything clears, no more exhaust hitting the rear diffuser either.

Now the engine is willing to rev out a lot more. Me thinks it needs a dyno tune to 'optimise' the setup! Will soon be reaching the limits of stock fuel injectors and AFM's.

Also got a brake master cylinder stopper to fit at some point.

Next on the list once my wallet recovers is probably rego.

Still have to get:

Nismo MFD upgrade

New front rotors

fire extinguisher

    • Following from this in a related by not closely-related sense... Because I was buying a bunch of other GKTech stuff, I got some rear subframe collars. The history that leads up to this is: 25+ years ago the car arrived into the country with stock subframe bushes. At some point shortly thereafter I added Whiteline pineapple rings, set up neutral, and it improved the rear end behaviour. Well, it is my vague memory that I was happier with it with them in. Less axle tramp on launches, generally better, etc etc. ~2012 it got a new non-HICAS subframe with new stock bushes. No pineapple rings. I reckon that ever since then I've been dissatisfied with the axle tramp. Recently I've been f**king around a lot with all aspects of the suspension. One contemplation has been to relocate the rear lower control arm front mount points (and do the other things needed to make that work) to improve longitudinal rear grip by getting rid of some of the stupid anti-squat that Nissan ladled into the R32. But.... before doing that I thought I'd put some collars in. And.... The collars are good. The rear sounds a little bit different, but there has been no significant increase in NVH coming up into the body. In terms of rear behaviour - expansion joints on long sweeping elevated freeway ramps that would sometimes cause the rear to jiggle around a bit, no longer seem to do so. It appears that jamming chunks of metal into the gaps in the rubber so they can't move much is a really good thing. And the launch behaviour and general forward traction situation seems to be greatly improved too. It's impossible to be really sure, because the tyres are completely shagged - they are freakishly willing to let go right now. But as an A-B test with the same tyres it certainly seems to grip up a lot better. Highly recommended to anyone who still has stock bushes.
    • Bit off topic maybe but has anyone had a crack at one of those aftermarket electric compressors ? Bit of a search came up with one put out by Speedy Air Spares. Looks interesting and looks as if you'd have to run a big arse alternator. Found this out after the fact as my air con compressor packed it in and soon after my alternator ! !
    • Yes. Needs new ports. Usually just achieved by screwing an adapter onto them. Be aware that any AC compressor that hasn't been used in a long time will very likely have dried out seals and will not hold gas. Oh, and obviously you will require a new receiver-dryer also.
    • Can you covert an R32's AC from r12 to r134 if the compressor/hoses etc are still all good? Pretty sure on my car the AC was degassed when it was imported  to remove the naughty r12 and save the ozone layer, and the fancy climate control system just blew air around. Was happy to drive the car with windows down back then, but now I am old and need to be kept cool
    • Just to circle back here, I've sold my automatic trans to another Stagea owner in OH.
