Air con regas and tyre question

How much do you guys pay for an aircon regas and from where?

Also, I've noticed a VERY bad thing on my two front tyres (haven't checked the back yet) and that on the inner side (closest to the car) you can actually see the steel threads pretty much around the entire tyre. Obviously this is a terrible thing.

I've read the previous threads about tyres, but with Toyo's costing an arm and a leg (which I can't afford right now), what are the next best (and cheaper) tyres?

I can get Kuhmo's pretty cheaply, but I'm not sure if they are any good.

Advice please.

my work does straight regas (ie r134a -> r134a) for 99

pm me if u want specifics

but most auto electricians can do it - just choose a reputable name thats close

$13 a kilo for 134a and your average car takes less then that ...

Try and get it cheaper ....

Get Yokahama's (who knows if theyre good or not... they sound Jap so get them!)

On your tyres, you need a wheel alignment, you have excessive toe in or out. And pick up some falken FK451s they are great and not too pricey

shop around for sure

but just because you believe u can buy the gas for said amount

doesnt mean u gonna find much cheaper

the companies charge 12 months rent on every bottle of r134a - so $13 is a little off - the gas isnt the cost anyways - its the labour and evac etc

We dont pay rent on our bottles.....

we pay $13.78 per kilo and use up to 3 bottles a week in summer..

i used to have some cheap khumos and they sucked...i wouldnt go any lower than the khumo ecsta SUPRA model...

Never bothered with good tyres as they never last long enuff.....

Had a set of toyos and they hooked up well but wore out quick...12ks as it was driven very hard

well, i've decided on toyo trampio tpgs .. will be getting put on friday

aircon is still to be regassed, it isn't a major issue atm.
