i have an RB25DET Series 2 R33 Skyline with a series 1 ignition loom, 1 of my coil packs has karked it so i've decided to replace the lot as there all looking pretty old and worn.

question 1.

should i buy series 1 or series 2 coil packs? is there any difference?

question 2.

will my ignition loom clips plug into series 1 & series 2 coil packs??

question 3.

what are the best coil packs on the market? Splitfire, Yellow Jacket?? etc..

im not sure why my series 2 RB25DET is running a series 1 loom, it was done by the old owner, im sure there is a good explanation for it tho, if anyone thinks its not a good idea please let me know, id hate to damage something.

yeah i have an igniter pack at the back of the rocker cover, i was just asking because i wasnt sure if series 1 coil packs would run well with a series 2 engine, would it run more natural with a series 2 wire setup? or should it be the same either way?

OEM coil packs are roughly $1,200 for a set of 6 according to another forum, yellow jackets have a good reputation on SAU forums, im thinking about getting a set when tax comes in, good reputation, less then $400, not to bad if you ask me.
