Damn, look at all those 50's!

The long wang really kills it for us NA boys. I actually thought I went quite quick through the LW this time around (at least on the run I didn't spin out), but still ended up way down the bottom. I've got to make up the points on the skid pan, and as Gerald has shown we Supra's aren't complete boats out there!

It's interesting going back over past DECA results to see where you're improving. My LW seems to be getting slower, is that because clockwise is a slower track? MW seems to be getting progressively quicker! Down from an original 33 seconds to mid 29's. Probably explains why I'm loving it more and more too.

I think next time I'll tackle the cones on the wangs a bit faster, I'm sure there's plenty more grip in the car.

after scrutinising the results i had a decent amount of top 20 results but i got let down by a couple of slowest times (damn that cone i took for a ride)

all in all very pleased with it :)

I'll have to try it, I've never been good with the whole heel and toe action.

Come past one day I'll teach ya :P

Once accomplished Kez, aim to double clutch heel toe which will not only stop the jerky downshift, but will save your synchros a lot. This involves what Hamish described but you let the clutch out in neutral as you blip, then clutch back in before selecting the lower gear.

Yep that's where it's at, you get into such a habit that you end up doing it without thinking about it. I reckon it's easier to learn double clutching and then progress to heel and toe so you have an understanding of the rev matching concept.

I learnt just doing it while I was driving around town.

I.e. RoundABout's etc

start by learning to blip the throttle without worrying about the brakes

you will quickly learn how much you need to press it to get the revs matched

then you can learn to do it with your heel (or you can also roll your foot like I do with my size 14's)

Yer roundabouts are the best for it. I learnt the heel toe action in an automatic of all cars lol, just in neutral to practice the amount of pressure needed.

warning. you may send your passenger through the windscreen the first couple of times :P

LOL

Booooo not happy with results. Did worse than last time lol. Big improvement on the wangs but sucked a big one on the skidpan, complete reverse of how it normally is for me...go figure. Congrats to the winrars.

well done to the winners!

dane- blistering pace in your road car!

some cracking times amongst the field aswell, which shows quite a few people capable of knocking on the top of the table...

perhaps we should look at banning rear engine cars? :P

some great pictures from various people as always.

best fun i've had in my car to date!

IMHO unless running in a field of all cars of the same class and power levels, then just focus on improving your own times compared to own results.

Granted, with the DECA points scoring system it is a bit difficult to gauge how you went, since it's all placing and not time based. In that case use the seat of pants gauge or setup an in-car camera so you can measure your own times :P

What is your vehicle setup like if you don't mind me asking? Power/suspension mods?

Agreed, I try to gauge myself against similar cars :P

Have you tried clicking the tabs on the bottom of the worksheet? You can switch to the worksheets that show your times...

Greg - How were some of your results??! If you hadn't have buggered a few up you'd be right up the top mate, awesome job. 4th in the first Long Wang run is awesome. The old girl still has life in her yet :P

the old "if you didn't bugger up"

if only... but that's what deca is all about and it's great fun.

i was wrapped with some of the times considering the guy driving........ but a few little concentration lapse's is all it takes to throw a good time out the door, and as soon as you do slice some cones or wd there is always someone eagerly celebrating on the inside! :P

birds: car is fairly mild, and still used as daily commuter, 200kw and some jdm tein super streets, it has a few basic suspension arms too, but nothing over the top.

I need more grip!!!!
