Rb26 Headgasket Advice

heya all.. it looks like the r34 engine i have for my s13 has a blown headgasket... just wondering what you guys and girls think.. before i put it back into the car...

Looks like a leak! Replace it to be sure, it's a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to do out of the car.

yeah, the nitto gaskets are all the rave now..

oh ok... why is that ? just good for the money? ill have to have a look into how much they are...

looks like ther is no paint there and some water (probably frow washing the engine) has caused it to rust. I'd be surprised if it's a blown head gasket, but preasure test the cooling system first. RB's very rarely blow a head gasket externally.

oh ok... i will probs just change the gasket anyways.. and put some studs in it at the same time... just for future reference how do i presure test it ? cheers

have u had the engine running before? i highly doubt that came from the headgasket, an external leak like that will also lead to internal leaks, if there are no internal leaks, the headgasket is fine

is there even a water gallery in that corner?

hvae not had the engine running before... just bought it of a work mate ... his convinced the engine is in top shape... we will see
