After the success of the first combined supra/ skyline dyno day it was decided that we should again invite the skyline boys and girls to a less competitive (maybe) social day with go-karts @ Hume and then lunch at the Kingo.

Dates are still to be confirmed however at this stage we would be looking at Sunday 27th June or 4th July. We will start around 9am so hopefully all races will have finished around lunch time.

Hume karts centre has requested the full payment and confirmed numbers 2 weeks before the event. Each race will have 10 people and run for approximately 10 minutes.

This is a social type event so owners and drivers are both welcome :) This also includes partners!

I’d like to gauge some numbers by Wednesday 16th June. Please put your name on the list below and nominate which day suites you most, majority wins.

As Kat has mentioned. To hold a place you will need to pay up front. It is much easier for us to book and hold the time for us. simply showing up risks not being able to get people on, the general public joining our races and the whole event could drag out for many hours.

I have orgainised a couple of these events in the past and trust me there is nothing worse then spending time trying to update the thread 5 times a day for 3 weeks to find 80% of the people dont show up, or run late etc.

Our club has started a blacklist for people who say they will be there on the internet but wont show up to the event as we're sick of the drop outs or no shows. If you dont show up the only one missing out will be the individuals wallet. Obviously sometimes unexpected personal issues can arise for which we have no problem.

After the 16th i will be confirming numbers. All payments will need to be made within 1 week to avoid being removed from the list and potentially removed from future social events.

I'm keen. Its always a good day out for car clubs. 10 on the track at once though will be very crowded! I know, I used to work there!! However, with large groups its unavoidable.... Prefer 27th June.

Yeah right! I'm so out of practice even Mick would have a chance! Nah.. I'm not that outta practice... jks

Seriously though, it all comes down to how good your kart is. That line of ".. They're all the same.." is a croc of sh1t.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
