Hi guys,

just wondering if 18x10 with a 15 offset would be fine for an R33 GTR? Will they rub the guards if the car is lowered a bit?

I had a quick search and most people go either 18x10 with 18 offset or 18x9.5.

Anyone got 15 offest on their cars or any advise?

Thanks.

mine are +12 and the fronts do rub a tiny bit on full lock. theres a little knob thing sticking out of the back of the inner guards that it touches. pretty sure you could just flatten it down with some careful hammering.

It'll fit straight in without rubbing on reasonably low, if more low, the wheels will 'camber' in.

Also depends on tyre size, I've got 275/35/18 on 18x10 +19, I reckon I could whack 10mm spacers and it'll look good on mine.

If you're worried about tyres rubbing on guards, get slighty smaller tyres and roll the guards.

oh also ive got 245/40s on mine so a little stretch for a 10" rim

Hi pete,

your car looks fantastic, so your running 18x10 with a 12 offset and 245 tyres?

So based on that, i should be able to get 15 offset and run 265 tyres which is what i want.

also thanks for all the replys, it really is helpfull.

it really would depend on how low yours sits and how thick a tyre you choose too. if yours sits as low as mine (which isnt overly low) then you may encounter the same issue as me. having said that it doesnt bother me at all.

heres a reference for how mine sits at the front, have since raised the rears 30mm

hi guys,

bit of an old post but ive just sold my wheels and am looking for a new set. Ive come across a set of 19x10.5 +22 volks which im tempted in getting. Any thoughts on 19's on a R33 GTR? Also the offset seems a bit higher than what most people run but it looks like the wheels fill the guards nicely.

Hey Peter,

You won't have problems with that size and offset, as long as your not running super hektic low....

You may get a slight rub on full lock when the car is on an uneven surface but wouldn't worry about it too much. Try to keep the tyre width under 285, it will reduce the rubbing also.

As far as the tyres rubbing whilst driving you won't have a problem, again as long as the car is not lowered too much....

Cheers

What size tyres are they? I know for a fact 18x9.5 with 285/30/18 tyres will scrub when doing a u turn/ full lock right turn. This is only the case if you lower the car. I'm running super street at the lowest when it was scrubbing.
