Anybody On Here Keep Cichlids?

Just pulled down an aquarium and have a couple of cichlids going free to a good home.

Preferably someone who already has them, or at least knows how to look after them.

There is one large electric yellow, one baby electric yellow and a Transcriptus.

i have no idea what they are, but would they go well in a tank with a turtle?

They can be a bit aggressive to other species, and they like "harder" water conditions than most other slimy things.

my brother has an american and an african cichilid and they are both in seperate tanks or else they would rip each other apart ...

they are bloody huge fish too and highly agressive and territorial ... my brother feeds them oscars and they rip them apart

Lol, these are pretty small and have been together for quite a while with no ripping apart happening.

But yeah, the big ones can be pretty nasty critters.

Mine will probably just end up back at Jem Aquatics where they came from.

My mate in Melbourne and myself used to have a few, he got a Jaguar monster once, but couldnt afford to feed it 10 bucks of neons every day!

i have a few in my bothers tank in Brissy, canberra is too cold!
