Hooksy "David Hooks" Life Support to be switched off.

Recommended Posts

Dunno if this is th right place so dont bagg me.. but I take my hat off in saddnes when i write this. Just heard on 3AW that family off hooksy is right now contemplating switching off his life support.

I like many, don't know the full details of what happened & think if anyone is shameless enough to say hooksy deserved it, or the bouncer should rott in hell, perhaps hold these thoughts close to your chest until the trial is finished.

It was just announced the bouncer can only be charged with assault as his blow did not kill hooksy, the fall is what killed him. Laws like that are rediculous if this turns out to be the case.

I feel sad, for the families of all.. & just thought I'd let you all know.

that was the most up to date story i could find, couldnt see anything about them turning off life support, but if he has a massive brain injury, it might be the only thing left to do.

Best wishes to his family.

A ridiculous situation and a very sad one.

I met David Hooks at Richmond football club functions a couple of times and he is simply a genuinelyy great bloke.

The bouncer who hit him and the other three of them involved should be brought up on manslaughter charges to pay for the assault.

Hooksy went out of his was to break up the fight and the bouncer king hit him. As he has a family and many many friends its a very sad day. :)

It was over 100 metres from the premises the bouncer's were working at, so they were just being THUGS!!!

Tragic! well i just hope justice is done and the person responsible truly pays for his crimes. No bouncer has the right to hit somebody in subduing them, no matter what the circumstances. So whether he was mostly injured in the punch, or the fall matters little.

Bouncers are the worst shit on the face of this earth (well them and lawyers), so it doesn't really surprise me, but so fugged up!

I didnt hear anything either hope he comes out of it ok , ive been listening for most of the day .

There was an eye witness on the news tonite that said they chased him up the road and king hit him, left hook (no pun intended at all) in the side of his head after which he dropped to the ground and smashed his head.

Farking scum-sucking P.O.S. bouncer deserves manslaughter. Not because it's David Hookes, because he SENSLESSLEY bashed someone that was trying to help him do his job.

Adrian

Incidentally, Hookesey once scored a first class hundred in 43 mins, off of 31 balls. Legend.

i've seen first hand of boucers treatment to people ... brainless thugs who never finished high school ...

So true, couple of idiots i used to go to high school with are now bounces.

They are like cops, think they are something special, but they are really brainless ****s!

actually they're a step below cops, as they're the ones that can't even get into the police force or any other meaningful security job. So most of the time its the only way they can feel they are anything important in the world other than some knob who looks at your licence and decides whether you get into some shitty club that u prolly don't wanna go in anyhow!

I don't usually support vigilantism, but if the law doesn't do something about this thug, god help him coz I know somebody else will

it's a sad world, David Hookes or not, this was an attack against an innocent man, justice needs to prevail

This bouncer deserves everything he gets... there a bunch of tools who like to think they have power. I had some freinds who went to a strip club when they were 18 and got busted taking photos. 1 mate was pushed backwards down a flight of stairs while the other 2 had their heads smashed into the pavement repeatedly.

Yes they did break the "club" rules, but they were trying to run when the bouncers beat the shit out of them and were of no real danger.... 2 of 3 ended up with stitches...

oookkkkkkk been living under a rock. This is the first i've heard about any of this. I was wondering why on Triple M they were talking about bouncers? Guess i know why now...

wonder what the 'hairy backed sheila' has got to say about this one? she did threaten him and all...

sad day indeed.... :D

    • I'm not up to date on the latest, but for basic modifications like pod filter, lower springs etc you can get a modification permit at the time of inspection.  For more serious modifications you will need engineering.  Intercoolers used to fall into the mod permit rule but its been a long while since i looked it up.   Either way you will be able to get it registered, just a case of $300 vs $3k .
    • Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
    • Yeah I've spotted this one too, whenever it's lotto superdraw week and I'm browsing car sales dot com for my new ride They must be dreaming, maybe it's worth 150k for the link to Brock?
    • 100% accurate!  We are a pack of know it alls....  But, I bet people go to you when they have a problem! I've been on a bit of a clean up rampage too over the past month!  I've thrown more shit in the bin over the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 3 years combined! Anyway, it's all good fun being different! My wife sometimes does not agree!
    • ADHD in all form isn't about "can focus, or can't focus" or is hyper active or isn't etc.   It's all a dysregulation. Either time feels to be stationary, or time just vanishes in a split second. We are either under focussed on the task at hand (as we're over focussed on our surroundings) or we have no idea an atomic bomb went off beside us as we're so hyper focussed and locked in on things.   Not to mention the rapid fire thought process. What it takes a "normal" process to think up a solution to a problem, ADHD will be able to give you 5 different ways to solve the problem, and the pros and cons of each. While we can be highly impulsive and lack the ability to "control ourselves" we can also become paralysed with the inability to make a decision for ourselves. While most of us have an OCD like requirement for perfection, we lack the ability often to remain focussed to get things to a perfect state. Those with undiagnosed ADHD as adults, can often find the last part actually stops them ever attempting to do things that they have the ability to do, as the reasoning is often "if I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing"   As for projects... Ha ha ha, I still need to take the other half of my wall trim down in the Fiance's office so I can paint it. Need to finish digging and running the back yard drains, my R33, getting the Ninja bike registered (now being sold), the moped project, fixing either of the lawn mowers so they're reliable, along with a myriad of other things.   It's why I've been going through lately and just being brutal and clearing projects off that I won't actually ever complete. IE, moped will go to the tip, or be given away, bike is being sold, Subaru project being sold, some parts for other projects given away. Or I've been making myself focus on one thing at a time, by ticking off the smallest quickest ones first.   There's also a reason by our mid twenties we seem to be "know it alls", as we've all been down some of the weirdest and oddest rabbit holes when you follow the dopamine trail. It's often also why we're more a jack of all trades, but not a master of one.   However, pretty much all of my hobby projects, in one way or another, all come back around to automotive. That's my zen area.
