Bouncers are the worst shit on the face of this earth (well them and lawyers), so it doesn't really surprise me, but so fugged up!
This bouncer deserves everything he gets... there a bunch of tools who like to think they have power
So true, couple of idiots i used to go to high school with are now bounces.

They are like cops, think they are something special, but they are really brainless ****s!

Don't you guys hate reading and hearing about how hoons in imported TURBO cars are causing havoc on the roads and that we all deserve to have our license revoked. Well this is what I think when I read sh*t like the quotes above. I have an IQ of 137 and I have been a security guard for 2 and a half years, I started a new job in IT today because I am also a qualified programmer, so you must understand that anger clouds cognitive thought processes and you are all not thinking practically, I chose to undertake security because I changed jobs and chose to go into IT so I worked 50 hours per week and studied for 25 with a partner and a child and a mortgage. You also must understand that bouncers do not help the police they actually create work for them by throwing people out of clubs and such, anyway the judicial system treats bouncers who do f**k up harshly because they are issued a license by an agency that is controlled by Victoria Police, ultimately it is the State and Federal Governments fault because they will not regulate the industry, it prefers to have shonky operators who go around to pubs and clubs and undercut other shonky operators who are doing it to someone else, anyway to cut a long story short, security companies and licensed venues only get what they pay for, pay peanuts and you'll get monkeys, or people who are desperate enough to work in sh*t conditions. Anyway my heart goes out to David and his family, the moral of the story is everyone don't generalise about one group or another because it leads to negativity, how would you all like it if one day someone does a burn out near your house in an identical Skyline and people come knocking on your door saying your a f*ckwit or calling the police onto you, you wouldn't like it would you, this idiot will do lots of time in prison and so he should but don't put htem all in a nutshell, I have some very good friends who are very smart who just didn't or don't have the opportunity to get out of the industry. Thanks for listening.

this is some bad shit i mean it... we have brainless idiots working at these joints that really have no idea what they are suppose to do besides from looking at id's...I really feel sorry for Hooksy and wish his family all the best!!!

and here it is again... :werd:

i agree with you 100%

it's no fault other than the governments really... and the people that employer the 'goons'

A guy i know is a bouncer... and he is a tool.

And the judicial system in my view is NOT hard enough.

He got his head kicked in one night... and throughly deserved it. But no... it all gets turned around in court. It's hopeless.

As a bouncer with a license he should have avoided the conflit and not aggrovated it, and then cried foul when you get beaten.

And there are a number of local clubs to me that have rouge bouncers who get thier kicks out of dragging people around the back and giving them a few.

DAMN YOU GOVERNMENT!!!!

On the flip side

I also know another bouncer, but he is quite alright actaully.

Uses his brain, something you dont see sometimes.

Whilst this is a bad BAD thing to happen, and sometimes for action to finally be taken it does take such a tragedy as this.

and i hope this is a slap and a kick for out lazy government to finally get off it's ass and DO SOMETHING. Dont just say it's bad etc, get out there and be pro-active, not re-active

I feel for all involved, a close mate recently lost his brother to a stabbing.

it's hard when people are taken away without a chance to say good-bye's

As much as i HATE the guvment, lets blame the bouncers parents, their teachers, anyone they ever looked up to. Surely we can blame EVERY one else for the sadistic mentality these people have, except for them. "Fail the police force (open slather on peoples heads), lets become a bouncer, its easier, people are usually under the influence and they dont fight back when you hit them from behind".

Sincerest thoughts go out to David's family and friends.

No-one deserves that end.

And I heard 2 amazing pieces of news this morning:

1. This thug was out on bail for a similar attack. So, he's on bail for assault, and he's still working in a job that would permit him to commit further assaults. WTF!

2. Police are not going to upgrade the charges (presumably to manslaughter)

Actually I dont believe its the pubs fault - they use bouncers from a sub-contacted security firm. So it is the security firm that should be sued if anyone.

But it is a very sad day indeed. Hooksy was a great bloke and his opinionated manners were one of the reasons Austalian cricket is so healthy right now as he was never afraid to say publicly anything if he thought long term it would be good for the game.

:) to a great aussie bloke.

why is it when something happens we always have to blame some one else or an organisation

yeah the bouncer did do it, his fault but why blame all these other ppl or other bouncers

yeah some are idiots but some are nice ppl

ive had my fare share of idiot bouncers but ive also had my fair share of nice/good bouncers

hookys was a top bloke and i will miss him, he did alot of cricket!

just remember with any group of ppl there will always be an idiot out of them all

I think its a bit unfair to take it out on bouncers in general.. but i think most of us would have had bad experiences with bouncers in our lives, which tends to sours everybody's perceptions if you've had the shit kicked out of you, or watched your mates get the shit kicked out of them for little to no reason.

Hopefully if anything comes out of this, it will be tighter regulation and getting rid of the grunts from the industry. Sadly its the only way things get done in this country.

But Hooksie R.I.P

it is the companys that hired him's fault as its their responsibility ... eg ... if u work for some company its their responsibility for your safety and what you do ... i'm not sure of the legalities ... but i say both the pub owner and the security firm can be sued.

Thats right. Just like in my company if someone dies on one of our construction sites, our CEO can be sent to jail for it as it is his responsibility by signing the contract for the job to ensure the safety of everyone on site even though he is not on the site.

It will all go back to the big bosses.

hey, inasnt: what's the contact details of your "big boss".. might slip him a fifty .. lol

p.s. you might want to watch out for falling pipework, because "accidents" can happen in the workplace

:);)

My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of David Hookes.

All I have to say is that this incident was a complete waste of life. I cant believe we live in a world where we can go out with friends/family for a good time and be killed by the people who are ultimately there to protect you. This thug had absolutely no right to attack anyone and deserves to have the book thrown at him... HARD. I hope his punishment serves as a warning to the other heros (not just bouncers) out there.

Yes, both the pub and the crowd control company would be liable, as they both have a minimum duty of care towards all patrons..... but what he did doesn't fit into the job description anywhere.

Hope he goes to jail for a long time. ;)

    • I used the radium thing, makes the whole parallel assembly a lot more compact compared to any other way of doing it
    • Racetronix also sells those ethanol content sensor bypass blocks. Adapter, Flex-Fuel E85 Sensor High-Flow Bypass, In-line No Sensor (ADF-FLEX-NS): Adapters - Flex Fuel | Racetronix Ethanol content sensor are originally designed to be on the feed line. These bypass blocks are meant to be ran in the feed line and not return. The continental ethanol content sensors have a 3/8" ID and not 5/16". This is why they are ran on the return line directly in conjunction with a low threshold sampling value VS in the feed with one of these blocks.    Haha we think alike, I used both original feed/return for 8AN feed, and one of the Hicas lines as a 6AN return. I also capped off and left the other Hicas line as a spare.
    • Interesting, I haven't read about the issue with oil getting into the speedo in the cluster before. I'll have to take more notice with mine. The speedo on my R32's when I've run factory diff and tyre size have never been accurate as far as I can remember. The non Type-M GTS-t did come with 15" 5 stud wheels and smaller brakes, but that's less than 5% of them.
    • Good to hear the condenser you picked up off my brother worked all good. Do you think there could be an issue with your AC compressor itself or the clutch on it then? I don't know a lot about them so I can't really help but keen to hear what it ends up being. Keep the build thread going man, it's nice to look back on over time.
    • This is a story of my life things, I learned eventually (thanks to someone calling me out) that my enthusiasm for discussing and sharing ideas that it came across as arrogance and I'm like... WTF?!    One thing I'm pretty sure I justifiably pride myself on is knowing that everyone will have things they can teach you, and you're always going to find out that something you think you know turns out wrong - you just don't know what it is until you get there.   Just the bursting enthusiasm that comes with ADHD when you hit something that gives you dopamine dumps can come across like you think everyone else is wrong or don't matter. But yeah, I'm a software engineer by trade and also do tuning in weekends and 100% have long had a reputation for  quickly making connections when resolving problems or forming solutions that I've sometimes had to take people form a long walk from start to end to explain how I ended up where I did when it's seemed "too simple" when I've stated my initial case, and had the "WTF" type reaction when they've realised how much was actually considered haha.   My reward is that I get all the curly problems thrown at me.
