Have upgraded to a high mount exaust manifold and GT35 turbo and now require water and oil lines to be run from the turbo to the block. I want to avoid braided lines as I think over priced and probably not as reliable as well thought out steel lines similar to what they have factory.

Has anybody made up steel water lines from their turbo to the block and care to share some experience?

Where can I buy the right materials to do the job?

I was thinking Steel lines to drop down through the manifold runners and possibly have dash fitting brazed on the end and then run some short braided line runs to allow flex but kept clear of the heat of the manifold. Hope that makes sense.

Anyhow would be great to hear from you. And of course any pics of how to do this would be awsome.

Cheers

thats the issue with steel lines. They fatigue and crack where the fitting has been braised on.

also big hours on bending them up and you still need to buy fittings.

it may be a couple of hundred dollars cheaper but not the best way to go. and yes i have done it both ways plenty of times, and i can tell you i have replaced many more steel lines that have failed compared to braided lines.
