Hi all was supposed to get my pfc tuned today but found out it was not really working.

according to Paul @ chasers he was able to communicate with the pfc

the problem however, was that the voltage coming out from the pfc (to cranksensor etc.) was too low (way below 12v)

the car wont start with the pfc connected and so they checked the wires and stuff everything seemed to be good

and so they swapped the stock ecu back on and started the car without any problems

so does anyone no where shuld i go?

check in the fuse panel on ECR33

drivers side in the cabin

look for ENGINE 10 AMP fuse

check if its blown, if so reclace it

i forget which one is ENGINE 10amp

so check them all

or find a diagram of it my site

paulr33.com

yeh what paul said is correct, and most likely there is nothing wrong with your pfc...

i'm gonna take a stab and say you had a z32 or similar installed recently?... if so theres a good chance the signal wire shorted to ground causing one of the 10A engine control fuses under the drivers side dash to blow... this will give you approx 6-8V output instead of 12V and cause relays to click and the car not to start on the PFC .... however for some strange reason the problem does not affect the standard computer!

so check all the engine control 10A fuses under the dash on the drivers side!

good to hear all sorted

yeah its something thats got me gobsmacked

and we've seen it before, the illusive missing 10amp fuse

i dont get

how ECR33 with standard ECU runs fine and no problems for 10+ years

go and install the PowerFC and it goes spazzo, only to find a MISSING 10amp FUSE

i mean, i get it if was blown right, but a MISSING fuse - that makes no sense?

if its part of the 10AMP engine control, how can it be missing and work with the stock ecu?

why does the powerfc need it? what circuit is broken by this fuse MISSING ????

it make ZERO sense

    • Ye, in terms of bolting up the "Conversion" from a GT to a GTT is effectively "Use GTT parts for everything" Except the subframe itself, because you won't want a HICAS/4WS subframe. Remember your ABS system will be different too, thanks to GT being the S15 3 sensor system, instead of the R34 4 sensor system for wheel speed. I do not know how people get this to work given R34 diffs do not have a provision for an ABS sensor (they are on the tone wheels of the axles). I assume***** people use S15 gear/R34NA forever when they realize this - Or they convert it to a rear diff/axles that are R33 style which I presume has the singular speed sensor on the diff itself, but then you have to wire it all in and...and... and...
    • Foreshadowing was never so easy.
    • The ones in brackets are the first stages of tightening. I usually aim for the middle of the range. They give a range because it's actually not that critical to hit exactly the right bolt tension. Enough is enough, and too much is too much, and the range given is inside that range. Half of the bolts in the suspension are problematic for putting a torque wrench on anyway, so just get done up to mechanic tight  and spanner checked a week later.
    • Is the problem that we just disconnected the line, does it need to be plugged? I’d rather not buy another master cylinder
    • Clutch is same same. Tailshaft is not. Diff will drop in. Half-shafts will not mate up (5x1 on turbo, 3x2 on NA). There is also the strong possibility that your auto NA gets its speed signal from the sensor on the diff, not the gearbag, and that will leave you without a speedo. You can do all this, you just have to do a lot more than you thought.
