I tried to pull just the motor out....the f#$king cheap arse screw's stripped the head.

If I get time on the weekend I'll angle grind of the tips.

btw how much is it costing to get it working? I don't give a shit about the auto up/down anymore....I just want my window to work!

I heard that most drivers side window failures happen due to the motor brushes packing up. I bought an R33 power window motor from the wreckers for $20, swapped the brushes out with the knackered ones in my M35 and the window goes like new. No need for re wiring, the motor comes apart with two screws either side of the armature housing.

Similar thing happened to me. Driver's window got stuck in the down position and after taking off door panel found one hot window motor. Did a recon on the motor and its running again but I don't think much life remaining on the brushes.

Good to know that we can use the brushes from an R33 unit. Thanks.
