Bill paid Zeb $5500.00 for this car a couple of years ago, when I was negotiating with Zeb at $4500.00.

When I spoke to Bill recently (about 6 months ago), he told me he wouldn't part with it without making a profit and he was a bit set back when I suggested he wont get what he paid for it, because he paid a grand too much for it.

Unfortunately, this example has been a bit butchered for supposedly better audio sound, as it has 6.5" speakers in the door pockets and needs some trim pieces that are now virtually impossible to be found, anywhere.

The stickers on the car were made by him (had someone print them) and aren't accurate and it has been sitting in his shed for about a year unregistered.

I will be bidding on this car, but not to $6500.00 by anymeans.

Cheers, D

Hi Dennis,

Good luck with the bidding. The car seems to be in very good condition. The speaker fitment seems OK, far better than the one in SA. It looks to have ACT registration now, I heard it was a 'Sunday car'.

Ahhh L20ET i want the engine.

The PNV owner in Adelaide has a spare engine. I think the car (and parts) are still for sale.

For that sort of money, rebuild a L28, run Megasquirt, with a Turbo, still cheaper, than buying it for the engine..

Nigel

I am building an L28et for my car, but no Megasquirt and not cheaper than buying this car.

I have spent thousands for the parts to my engine and I'm only going to have 200 odd HP at the wheels, BUT it's the torque I want and I'm going to have something like 600nM which would nearly propel the 1250kg up telegraph poles.

I have seen the car in the flesh, so to speak, both under Zebastian & Bill's ownerships. I took a sh!t load of pictures of it when Zeb brought it to the motel we stay at when in Canberra just before he sold it to Bill. I am very aware of it's appearance and the speaker install, I just would have preferred it to be a little more original.

Bill has another toy, it's an MR30 sedan with RB20 or 25 up front and he is happy to keep this only.

I guess he is trying to sell it, because it doesn't get used anymore. It is carrying ACT plates, but it has no registration to go with it. As I said before, it's been in a shed/garage for the last year doing nothing and if it was a Sunday car, it was annual or Bi annual.

Maybe if I own this as well, there might be 2 PNV's going to Adelaide for Skynats???

Cheers, D

Aha my old car. Seems to be have deteriorated a bit since I owned it. Then again I sold it in 2003...wow 7 years on, how time flies.

What ECU are you going to use, one out of a 280zx?

I have an ADAPTRONICS for the new engine, but will run it initially on an L28ET ECU I got from USA.

The purple DR has an adaptronics running that and I find it supurb and sh!tloads cheaper than anything else around other than Megasquirt. What I found ith the megasquirt was lack of support in Oz, so I went with this new boy on the block in Ozland. It's designed and built by an ex employee of Autronics and as I said, it's a great ECU.

I have owned mine since 2002 as it says on the rego label and if I get my way your old car might be headed back to Sydney.

I cut a deal with the owner of this vehicle this morning.

I was in Canberra with a 2.5 hour lay over between jobs and got a CUA counter cheque drawn for the amount and Andrew (Mag86) offered to take me to the owners place. After some stuffing around and Andrew not having a clue where he was going and no street directory or GPS in his car it was 1542 and to late, so I contacted the owner to make other arrangements. He suggested I post the cheque and I could pick it up on my next days off, BUT!

Andrew offered to take the cheque to the owner for me tonight and do the paperwork for me to pick it up next week, BUT!

After some discussion between Andrew and the owner, there is no deal and the car is NO LONGER for sale to anybody other than Andrew, when he gets the money, no matter how long it takes.

Form your own opinions, but I was not privvy to the conversation and this evening went from a deal set in stone to absolutely ZILCH.

Cheers, D

BUT! The eBay auction is still running. If someone clicks 'Buy It Now' the owner is obligated to sell it to them. Likewise if someone bids over the reserve.

Messy plot, Shakespeare's ghost must be writing this one.

JH

He's not obligated to sell anything!

I bought a Cressida recently for $1500.00 and the seller wouldn't part with it for less than 2000.00 and ebay did NOTHING about it.

And I spoke to him this morning and he was told I was going to part it out.

    • Yes.  The only scenario I can imagine when the answer isn't yes, is if you drive like there is highway patrol behind you at all times.  If your car currently runs, enjoy it and keep saving. Better costs more, keep saving until you can budget the better ECU. It's worth it.  Nope. Plenty of us making >300kw on unopened motors. Mine is unopened and makes about 350kw if I turn everything up, its fine (lots of caveats here, how the car will be used/abused, how long you expect the engine to last between rebuilds, how has the engine been maintained prior to coming into your ownership, etc etc).
    • Sorry just wanting to clarify, at this power goal, which should I be going? Also, More info regarding suspension, the rear upper camber arms were used to get the camber back to i believe around -0.5 ~ -1 degree (@ Road and Race in Rydalmere), I forgot the exact figure, but ALOT less camber than what it came originally which was like -2.5degrees. Are the traction arms still recommended? The bilsteins from SydneyKid, they've got 400lb/in fronts & 275/in in the rear, revalved to his specs. Intercooler, I'm just having a look at some on Rakuten.jp and some other japanese sites. Might get something from back there, GReddy, Blitz or HPI, all crossflow. Looking at roughly $450-$500 AUD + shipping... Theres not many choices except that chinese branded Justjap unless you go for blitz return flow. Yeah, only downside with Haltech is the price ahhaha, so expensive, and with all the sensors if I go that route... $$$$$ yeesh. Are headstuds/gaskets needed for <300akw?
    • Haltech fanboi reporting in. Buy the Haltech!
