Cam Gear Wear

i was told these cam gears are no good and should be replaced because of all the little dints in them called pitting.

can anyone tell me if this is normal or are they about to disintegrate.

those pink and blue ones are reknown for wearing out . i dont think they will disentegrate but i can see them not being accurate and the right tension or any good for belt life . id repace them

I thought the series 1's were supposed to be the pick of the litter, while the newish ones are rubbish china quality units.. or was it the other way around?

HKS duralumin one's are good, their really old ones are the best as they have a steel outer just like the stockers and are hard wearing.

The ones in your pic are the ones to not use as they wear out too quick.

These are what I had on mine, the really old school one and the new duralumin one.

I read the anodising on cheap cam gears rubs off and the cam gear can start to damage the belt.
