Thought this would probably be the best place to ask seeing as I need some local advice.

As some of you might know, a couple months back my Stagea was crashed into and subsequently was declared a repairable write-off. I used the pay out to buy my GTR and since then my poor Stag has been sitting out the back of my mates place doing nothing but making me sad everytime I go round there. So instead of parting it out, I've decided i'd like to fix it up.

Basically what I'm after is someone who could come round and have a look at it and give me a quote, even a rough one, to repair it and get it back on the road. The issue is that it's undrivable the way it is so I really need someone who would be willing to come round and have a look at it. If anyone here could or knows someone who can that would be awesome.

-Pete.

Didnt you have to provide a quote to your insurance company before they deemed it a write off? or was it just the insurance assessor?

Id ring around to places like All Type Crash, they might have someone pop around if it means they get your business. Alternatively, write down what is wrong with it, itemised of course, and take it into a crash repairer.

i dont know anything about what happened, or what state the car is in, but if it was deemed a write off is it really worth the hassle and cost of repairing it? Write off being that it would cost more to fix, rather than buy a new one...

im guessing at least you would need chassis checked, panels and plastics replaced, engine and complete drive line could be out of whack now too...it would be very costly *(once again depending on what the car is now like / where it was hit)

My advice is dont get sentimental on it and waste money.

Pete,

I use to work at a crash repairer, so have a fair idea on what to look for. I can help with compiling a list of bits you'll need, then its up to you to hunt them down second hand. Cars are normally written off because the repairer will quote top dollar second hand parts, or new parts. In most cases, forums like SAU can help you hunt down the bits you need and save heaps. Do the labour yourself, and save more.

Nothing wrong with a bit of DIY.

If the chassis rails a twisted or bent in anyway... Don't bother. If its something like rad support, panels etc then a bit of DIY and a couple cases of beer and a few weekends can fix then go for it!

How bad is it? Any chance you want to sell it?

Stagea Ute, track car would be a first for AUS.

I don't think the chassis is twisted no panels gaps have changes that I've noticed, front right drive shaft is broken and some other suspension bits I think. No engine damage at all

you wanna buy it the way it is be my guest. I'll put some pics in here when I get home
