Why do you want to find threads?

I've told you quite clearly with a 100% factory ECU Z32 AFM's cannot be used as the factory ECU is not setup to support anything other than the factory ones.

It's as simple as that.

Come on ash, you know better than that, z32's can be used with a remapped factory ecu, but unless you have well over 400rwkw, there are better options

It's not factory if it's been modified in my book - you know better than that

Nistune USES a factory ECU, but it's not a factory offering as it's remapped/chipped/retuned etc.

std GTR AFM is 65mm vs Z32 AFM which is 80mm

std nismo GTR AFM is 65mm but with higher resolution sensor (like Z32 in 65mm shell)

Z32 flows more, is larger and has higher resolution.

for BNR32/BCNR33/BNR34 depending on ECU options you have choice of

2 x RB25 AFMs

2 x Z32 AFMs

2 x Nismo AFMs

Nismo is usually preferred as everything mates up, ie its still 65mm

whereas if you use Z32 or RB25's its 80mm each so you have to change pipework etc

a pair of RB25 AFMs is probably cheapest option.

all of the listed options need a different ECU or a piggyback or a remap to make it work

and besides, why would use a STOCK ECU (no remap) and need to replace the AFM's

its kinda a conumdrum, ie you wouldnt be able to make enough power to max the stock AFMs' but retain factory ECU (without a remap) and no other piggyback or standalone

im tryin to find threads about it but cant, can u help me out please..

i wanna know why i cant run z32 wif a factory ecu

wif??? oh with...

To understand why you cant use a z32 Air Flow Meter WITH the factory tuned ecu, you will need several things:

-Basic understanding on how a modern engine managment system works

-Basic understanding of how a hotwire air flow meter works

-Basic understanding of the relationship between the two

My suggestion is to get some education on the subjects above. All the info you need is well covered with in these hallowed forum walls OR you can find plenty of BOOKS (those thick paper things) written on the subjects.

Cheers

Justin

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
