Removing A Turbo

hey guys

before you say, YES, i did do a search, found nothing to specifically help me.

i have a r32 gts-t and the seller, who was a chick mind you, told me its a rb25det engine, series 1 turbo. Now, i know a bit about it and i doubting weather or not it really is because its still a 2.0L 1998cc and only the rb20det came out like that, if it was the rb25 it would be 2.5L. Im pretty stumped so how can i find out what it actually is? Im not a pro at this kind of stuff but i do know a tad.

Also, if it is an after market turbo, not the stock rb20, how much would i look at if i wanted to remove it and how much effort. Being after market it shouldnt be too much right?

I don't get it.

You say the seller told you it had an RB25 and you are saying it has a RB20 in it. So the seller lied to you or didn't know. I'm sorry I just don't get your question? Or do you not know what engine it is?

As for the turbo removal it isn't hard if you are handy with a spanner, why are you wanting to remove it though? You mean so you can change it for something else?

Yeah man, id like to swap it for a stage 3. She told me it was a rb25 but when i go over the spec sheet it says its 2.0L so it cant be a rb25.

ill go have a look in a few, my miss's is driving it at the moment, yeah i know, stupid idea.

F**k paying $3500 for that junk. You can pick up a T04E/T3T4 on ebay for like $300, not that I would ever touch one, especially on a RB20.

maybe its just a typo on the spec sheet? and aswell as having rb20 written on it for a 20 the rb25 has the vvt buldge infront of the inlet cam gear...

john post a photo of the engine bay

or pm a link to an engine bay photo

it will be the quickest way to work out what engine it has

and then for the turbo do the same

take a photo of the area and post it up or pm a link

there are obvious visual differences between the two (rb20det turbo and rb25det turbo) - regardless of what engine it is on, so it sohuld be easy to pick

stage 1 2 3 etc is how the VL and greater Commode crowd differenciate between cam, turbo etc specs.

I lol'd at that website, it almost looks like a stellar troll effort!
