So basically as per description my xanavi shat itsself on me today.

Music was playing and screen was operating as per normal with the car in park. I then switched the drive and bingo, no music, screen went blank, however maintained power. I have since taken the battery terminal off to remove all power from getting to the screen as the screen would stay on even with the car turned off and no key in ignition. After re-attaching the terminals, the screen stays black(no power to it) however i can hear it trying to operate the disc.

It still wont eject the disc, and unfortunately i cant get the xanavi unit out because one of the screws holding the player to the bracket has been well rounded by some previous owner.

Any ideas?

Could it be a fuse? etc

To make it go black....I went from park( as i was parked and had just turned the car on- to reverse then to neutral then onto drive. Just like any other normal day. The air con still work's, but the screen is blank, although there was power still getting to the screen as the back lights were on.

Once I took the battery terminals off and put them back on... No power is getting to the screen.

Have you checked fuses? Might sound like a stupid question, but it's best to check the easiest, simplest things first.

Yeah mate i have. Nothing appears to be broken. I turned the car on this morning and magically it worked. I also had a two hour drive and its very random, will work for up to an hour and half then just shit itself and turn off...then might turn back on down the track. It's gota be the xanavi i think. Seems like it's confused with what's going on, ie when I manage to get a cd to eject, its telling me there is one in there and its loading.

So anyways, iv been putting up with it randomly working and not working. Seems to be a issue with power getting to the unit. sometimes its got power then sometimes it doesn't. So I would think its not a fuse, but just in case, what Fuse(s) actually control the unit? Goin to give all the power cords and what not a clean now see if that helps.
