Where Does Boost Pressure Value Come From?

hey guys,

where exactly does the boost pressure gauge in the r34 get its pressure from?

the manual says its from the circled bit in the pic below, but i unplugged it and the gauge still have a reading. any ideas?

No that's where the ecu reads the pressure from. The boost gauge sender is on the drivers side right behind the suspension strut

legend, thanks mate, appreciate it. now i just have to figure out how to put a known pressure into it to see how accurate it is (it's displaying 12-13 and i have no idea why)

the stock gauges are well known to be innacurate.

as for testing it, get a bike pump that has a gauge and a long piece of vacuum hose and a ball needle. then have someone slowly pump and look at the gauge while you look at the gauge in the dash

Are they really known to be inaccurate or just hard to read accurately due to being measured in mm Hg and not well graduated?

mines in kg/m2, but yeah they're known for inaccuracy.

they are in a stupid unit of measurement

ther are not very accurate

the gauge is too small to any use

the hose to them ALWAYS splits and makes the gauge do f**k all and car not run properly

Mine splits alot, I brought a silicon hose to replace it
