I started with a Turbosmart item set @10psi, it dropped a psi in the last 1000rpm which I thought wasn't bad, but then when you go for a quick gear change it would overboost to 13psi for a sec. As my plans were a FMIC,SAFC and 12psi I didn't want the boost to hit 15psi so I got a Profec B, never been happier.

I had a turbosmart bleed "blue type" as my first bleed, this worked ok i spose used to spike to 15 and drop to about 10 psi

I now have a Blitz duel sbc and this is set at 15psi and while it doesnt hold 1 bar it gets to 1 bar quicker and bleeds off slower.

The ebc was almost easier to install then the bleed valve

I'm actually starting to think that i've got a problem with the SBC.

This morning it was on auto mode all fine started to hit 1 bar then I started winding out third and it hit 16psi ?!?!! WTF I thought.

THEN i set to manual mode and set it up right.

First gear 13.6psi.

Second gear 14.7psi

Third gear 15psi.

I'm going to double check everything then get tim @ rpm to check it out then return it if it is dodgy.

I also swear that the EBC does make boost start to come on a little quicker but then it gets up around say 12psi and where with the bleed it would jump to 15psi now it sort of goes up there smoothly. ?!?!

One thing I did notice with the Profec B is with the lo/hi knobs, even if there both set at 12psi, on low I won't get 12psi unless I'm at 100% throttle, but on high I can get 12psi at 40% throttle. It's good for when it rains I guess as you don't have to be shy with the accelerator.

Also with the balance knob you can set boost to drop off, rise or stay the same in the higher rpm.

I must say I have noticed it also.

With EBC's you seem to need more throttle to make more boost where as the bleeds tend to flick up there easier. (Spiking)

I havn't got a balance nob but. I just set the gain lower and it holds boost better up top.

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
